Too narrow for a wider foot person

I've been wearing Puma shoes for years and always loved them. Until these. They are uncomfortable and almost painful after 20 minutes. Very sore across the top of my foot. The size is the same as I've worn for years. Thought I'd try and break them in. After 5 tries, they are still killing my feet.
