Fancy Twist to "Go Fish." Fun for the family!
My husband bought the game on the left for around $6 at the local Dollar General. When looking for additional games for our toddler, I saw the electronic version on the right for $13, and became excited! The Nitty Gritty: The one on the left comes with paper instructions, while the one on the right comes with plastic-coated instructions that are laid out like a poster. Both instructions are in English and in French. The one on the left has a smaller box and a collapsible game board with included spinner. The one on the right comes with a solid game board, and a "AA": battery-operated electronic "spinner. " Batteries are included. Both games have 40 plastic coated cards, and are identical in nature. Game play is exactly the same for both games.Pros: Bigger box compared to the left, no fear of losing a spinner, you don't have to collapse the game board, and easy-to-read instructions and game play. Large cards for visibility. Batteries included!!!Cons: It's the baby Shark song, so you might get annoyed. Lol. Also, once you open the game board, and remove the included cardboard box holding up the electronic spinner, your box now has a gaping hole, so be sure you put the game board in first against the hole, so as not to lose pieces. (The cards are pretty large, so that isn't vrry likely.) Large cards make it difficult for my toddler to hold, so you might consider getting a card holder. Durability gets 4/5 stars, only because I doubt the plastic-coated cardboard box will hold up long-term, but that is with any game box. Also, the cards are thin.Overall, both versions are great! I can see using the electronic spinner as opposed to the regular spinner because the regular spinner sometimes catches on the bend in the gameboard. You also don't risk losing the spinner once it's time to put away the game, nor do you risk the bend in the cardboard wearing out after time, which is the problem with the game on the left. It is a VERY easy game to learn. My toddler loves it! It's basically a fancy version of "Go Fish" with a bit of a twist.
