AQA A-level Spanish (includes AS) (Spanish Edition)

The book would be great if audios were available; otherwise is quite useless. I contacted Hodder and I was told audio resources can be obtained for £125, as "they are designed to be purchase once by a school and used many times". Then, why offering this book to individual students?. This is quite unfair and I think audios should be available at a cheaper price for those who are not in a school.

This product needs a warning . The book is very good but it requires access to audio resources. Hodders will not sell those resources to personal buyers. They are reserved for lecturers and teachers. The book is therefore useless to me. The fact that this is not available should be made clear.

The authors of this book are to be heartily congratulated. They have taken a dull AQA syllabus and turned it into a text book that is not only palatable but actually interesting and engaging. This is not just a text book, it is a course in itself. It is packed with stimulating exercises, vocabulary and grammar. The audio exercises (sold separately) are particularly good and there are suggestions for wider reading and research via the internet.However, be warned. It is a text book for use in a class - it regularly refers to discussing items with your class companions (ojalá). If you are a solitary learner, tough. There are no answers to the exercises in the book, no audio and no audio transcriptions. Twice the book refers to the utility of seeing the transcription of the audio. There are also references to extended vocabulary lists online - not easy to come by. A printed companion book would be more than useful. It would sell well and I would buy it.There is a very expensive Teaching Resource which presumably contains these useful items but it is only available on subscription and assumes you are teaching and managing the learning of large numbers of students. Alternatively, you can sign up for a course with the National Extension College and you will then be able to access the audio, the answers and additional vocabulary.

I'm a private tutor for languages as well as an ESL teacher. I've used many textbooks and granted this book really is great compared to the rest, however, I was quite surprised that I couldn't buy the audio.I do not see the point of this being sold for private students when they can't access the audio as they can't take it home to practice in their own time. It renders the book only half useful and probably not worth the amount I spent on it since I can't use half of it.So, I think if you're not bothered about the audio, the book is great and wonderfully formatted, easy to read etc. but if you really want to practice your listening too, I would probably find something else.
