Hope this was helpful! **Q: This may seem like a crazy question but this is very interesting but how do i use this?** A: Although is says #1 on the packaging... it is really a #2 cone filter you will want to use. Simply place the filter cone on top of an empty mug, place a #2 filter element into the cone, add ground coffee to taste ( I use 1 1/2 tablespoon per 10 Oz), then very slowly pour boiling water into cone and over grounds...it will drip into the mug. It's best to do about 3 slow pours versus all at once...better flavor and it allows you to check the level in the mug as you go. There are tutorials for various techniques on YouTube if you're inclined. I prefer to buy the larger size #4 paper filter because it will hold all the water, versus the size #2 paper filter you have to pour and wait for it go down to add more. The mug I use is 1 1/4 cup or 10 ounces or 300 milliliters. It brews through in a few minutes and then I fold and squeeze out the filter before trashing it.I like this Fino Pour Over because it is large and plastic and also covers the top of the mug to not let as much heat out. The Melitta brand has a "view" window cut in and I feel the coffee isn't as hot after brewing.For darker coffee you can pour over the same liquid twice for stronger flavor or add more grounds. I use 2 scoops of coffee in mine. I like to add some ground cacao beans for a lovely "brewed chocolate" essence with my coffee. I have not tried loose tea leaves or mushroom coffee grounds to know how that is.I prefer the pour over because it is easy to clean compared to the blasted french press and travels well without breaking in my luggage, allowing me to take and make the perfect brew anywhere. I have been using plastic pour-over daily for 3 years and am not aware of a plastic taste. The cone filters are not hard to find at most stores and a pack of 100 last me 100 days.
