850-os Oil Buddy II Red/Yellow Pour Spout

I have an older car that goes through a fair amount of oil, and i thought this would be a pretty convenient device to have to be able to just throw on a gallon oil container instead of having to use a funnel and have an oily mess every time I'm done. I used it with a 1 gallon Valvoline MaxLife oil container. When I screwed it onto the container, I got through about 1 1/2 turns and then it popped back up. It turns out the threads aren't very long or tight sealing. There's also no washer or cushion like contraption to make it have a good seal with the container spout. I figured I would test it by leaving the gallon container on its side for a while. Sure enough, oil slowly leaked from around the neck of the oil container. What a disappointment.

I bought one of these years ago and finally found them again. Makes filling reservoirs easy with no spills. Works for windshield, oil you name it. The limit is the size of the bottle cap. Carry one with you when you buy your liquid. I've never had any liquid leak. The first one I bought must be 15 yrs old.

Nice to change oil without getting oil on valve cover.

It did not come with a washer, so oil leaks out of it when pouring.

Not a big fan of having to hold something in place to use it...like to use and be able to walk away for a minute...

Did not fit Castrol 1 gallon nozzles.

Keeps from oil spilling on engine.
