Switch works well, but has shorter lifespan than desired.
This switch is the third one of its type with the same part number that we have replaced. Each had been in service for 15 or 16 years and had failed with moderate usage. The failure mode was mechanical. The plastic rocker part within the switch assembly broke.

Lights flicker - but customer service is responsive!
I wrote the review below (with a 2 star rating)....it stands as written, but interaction with Lutron customer service has been VERY helpful and I've raised my rating. The product is apparently not rated for use with LED bulbs (I don't recall that the specs indicated that). But Lutron is sending me a different switch that is rated for LED use - at no charge. I'm quite impressed.Original review:I've installed the product to control three kitchen island drop lights - each with a 9w LED dimmable bulb - clearly within the stated capacity of this switch. At first it seemed to work perfectly and I was pleased, but now there are times when after being on for several hours, the lights noticeably flicker from time to time. It's not a bulb issue, because all three lights flicker at exactly the same time. It's very annoying and clearly not acceptable. I'd contact the manufacturer, but I can't figure out how to do so from the Amazon web site. Frustrating.

Lutron is it !!!
Lutron with dimmers throughout the house.. first time I have needed to replace one in over 25 years... Coco turns the tables on Lutron and sheds some light on those cool switches.

If you have LEDs, get the LED version!!
Bought this for LEDs, which was a mistake. There's an LED version. I thought at first it was defective, because even with the switch off, the LED lights were lit, but just barely. You had to actually look at the light, even in pitch darkness, to see that they were still on a bit. After some research, found that that's exactly why there is an LED version. This one has an orange backlight when switched off to help you find it in the dark. As for the functionality, I like it - the dimmer is a small slider to the right of the switch. It fits in a standard wall plate.

Great value, great support, works great
I installed two dimmers to control the lights on a room divider I built. The lights are LED track lights and 12v strip lights but in both cases this dimmer was on the recommended list. There is no flicker or hum and the lowest setting is quite low.I started by connecting all the components and was getting a current in my tester even with the switch off. I called Lutron support and they told me that without a load on the circuit the switch would send a trickle current that I was picking up. This turned out to be the case but the support was timely and helpful. Among of the best I have seen.

Nice Color, works well
When it comes to dimmers, I'm somewhere in the middle - the clown like rotary dimmers have somewhat of a '50's low-tech appeal. Then, we have dimmers that are so electronic, so LED-crazy looking, that they look more like devices designed to zap insects. This dimmer looks basically like a rocker switch. On the right side of the rocker, is an inconspicuous slide that controls the brightness of the light. It is low-key, convenient, and Lutron makes them in many colors, which, depending upon how frequently one changes the color palette of a room, may represent a convenient alternative to ivory, almond and white. This particular device was ganged with three other Lutron devices, all palladium colored - on a gray bathroom wall. The palladium color pretty much matches the wall color. Combined with a Lutron screwless wall plate, the whole thing looks very well put together. If I didn't choose this color, I would have gone with white, which would have looked fine, too.

Excellent upgrade from contractor-grade switches
UPDATE 1/15/17: One of the dimmers just blew out under normal usage. The switch itself still works, but I can no longer dim the lights. I am dropping the rating by a starVery good quality. The instructions are crystal clear, and the slight glow emitted makes the switch easy to find in the dark. The dimmer allows you to adjust the light as needed, from low for middle-of-the-night bathroom visits to full brightness for shaving.I foresee getting a few more for our other bathrooms.

Actuation feel is so-so, but it works well. I like the minimal slider look
This is the only reasonably-priced full-size switch front dimmer I could find anywhere, so I've accepted it in my life. It's also the only dimmer switch I've found that is branded on the front. That bothered me tremendously at first, but over time you can eventually ignore it... Also, I wish the switch "rocked" a little more in its actuation movement, and I didn't know it was an illuminated unit when purchasing, but hey nice bonus I guess.
