Nice Recipes, Lacks Science to Back Health Claims
I bought this book based on the wonderful reviews it received. While Sara Sisco's recipes may be good (I did not try them), I have to say they seem very similar to the many other great raw food recipe books out there. In addition to good recipes, I had hoped to get more information on what Ms. Sicso learned from her studies (with references) so I could speak about the subject knowledgeably and find out more about certain topics if I wanted to. However, this book only contains her claims of what is so, and does not site any references for her assertions. For instance, she says "Did you know that fish contain the same artery-clogging fat as meat and poultry." (page 5) REALLY? Interesting. I don't know if that is true or not, but it seems like a sweeping generalization and it does not jibe with what any other expert has said that I know of. What is the basis for her assertion? Would love to know, but she says nothing more on the subject. Literally. Instead, she jumps to another statement. How about "Did you know that your daily intake should be: 2% to 5% protein (5% if you are an athlete)?" (page 6) Again, that is it. No footnote, no reference. No discussion here. Eat 100% raw vegan minus any grains, legumes, dairy or nightshade plants (which include potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and green bell peppers) or die seems to be her message. Perhaps she will reveal all in her classes, which she devotes two full pages to advertise (pages 18 and 19). In short, there is no real information in this book, you get her biases and 120 raw food recipes that look as good as anyone elses. Save your money.

My Raw Bible
There are a lot raw books on the market, but I have been to Chef Sara's Cafe in Cave Creek, Arizona and I love her food and her inspiration. I tend to use her book as my go to book for most everything I make. There is a lot of nutritional information in the back. All her recipes are wonderful. I have had most of them. I heard she is writing a new one and I can't wait!

Not for the person in a hurry
The receipts are delicious but take lots of time to prepare. Inuse it for special occasions mostly. this is a great book but I recommend others in you library if you're going to stay with a raw vegan diet.

Recipe's
Information was very informative. The recipe's where looked like they would be good, but they are not ones I would choose to make. They had products in them that I would not use, like cinnamon. I am allergic.

I had the pleasure of dining at Chef Sara's restaurant in Arizona and just had to buy the book. I have ordered an additional copy from Amazon for a friend.

Exactly what the Doctor ordered!
This book is exactly what the doctor ordered! I'm hooked, I LOVE it!! Chef Sara is the Master when creating Raw food cuisine. Recipes are easy and worth every second of prep. My favorites are the rawgasmic sandwich, almond hummas, and cream of spinach soup. My kids also love her creations, especially the granola, oh and the ice creams! I pray for more books from Chef Sara!
