Really enjoyed most of this book
The book gave some interesting insight into not only what is involved in having a woodworking business but also a bit of history and evolution of the craft. The four stars is because of the poor quality of the photos. I'm sure that this is not the fault of the author because his description of his woodworking philosophy leads me to believe that he is very meticulous.

Pragmatic and Real
It is what it seems to be, a guide to a professional life making handcrafted personal furniture. Light on technique but has many examples of his own work and strategies for surviving as a full time wood worker.

Great!!
What a lovely way for Alan Peters to share his personal and professional experience.A kind of book difficult to find since it was written from his heart as he has done throughout his life in all his projects.

One of the best books i've ever bought
To be honest I bought this book as it only cost 1p used, it's fantastic gives info from tools to settings up workshop to finding customers. It is a bit dated being written in 1984 but info still brilliant
