Microbiology: An Introduction

I don't think people just buy this for fun so I will assume that everyone here is in College. The book is bigger than the average, length wise. Other than that I really like this book. It is easy to read and it has very vibrant pictures. So far that is what I like the most, different types of bacteria depicted from an electron microscope that cover half a page and have a glossy look to them. Sometimes The teacher is talking and I stop listening because I am mesmerizing about the microbes in sight. About the class, It is my favorite Biology class so far. It is never boring and the experiments are always pretty cool.

I bought this book for my microbiology class. The book that they wanted us to get is the hardback US version but the international one was a lot cheaper. As far as I can tell, there is no difference except maybe very miniscule things like page numbers, some case studies, and some numbers related to finances. The core text is the exact same and the paperback cover is still pretty sturdy. I highly recommend getting this version to save a decent chunk of money, especially if you only need this book for one semester.

The book is in great condition, the price is great, and I received it within 3 days. I will use Amazon for my textbook rentals from now on.

This book came in excellent shape, and I think the cover is awesome! So far, it has helped me a lot in class. As for the content, some chapters (such as 5) explain the mechanisms of Metabolism very concisely. Other chapters (6) seem to be quite wordy. There are many ways of culturing bacterial species, and this book really takes time to explain them. The information can be dense in these parts, and the way the authors transition between topics can seem rushed. Other than that, it's a great study aid and supplement to the lectures for this class.

This book was very helpful for me in class, Even though we didn't use it as much in class. It helped me understand a lot at home.

The book came in faster than expected the description said "very good" condition but it looks brand new! Slight cover damage in the corners (like the description said) but it's harldly noticeable and came with a really good price. I am very pleased with this purchase and will definitely be a returning customer.

The book is in decent shape. Only issue is that someone who had this book previously has written in it. The notes are a bit distracting.

Some of the pages are blank, an example is page 364. It isn’t a page that was intentionally left blank as the last sentence on page 363 isn’t complete and should continue on page 364.
