protects hair and ears
The cap arrived in a zip plastic bag. The cap is very sleek and soft to the touch, felt like good quality. I bought this swim cap for my young daughter, to keep her ears and hair dry from chlorine pool water. It is not very hard to don the cap onto my daughter's head if she helped by holding on to the edge of the cap to her forehead, while I pull the rest of the cap back and over her head. She has shoulder length hair, but it's also easier to tie her hair up to a bun or a ponytail prior to donning the cap. This keeps much of the frays away from her face and neck, and more convenient to tuck any hair that didn't go under the cap. Initially, the first couple of times with the cap on, there was a bit of hair sticking out from the back of the head/neck region. Water will go into the cap if the hair is not all tucked into the cap. Once I had noticed that this was the cause, I made certain that all hair was tucked underneath the cap. By pulling the cap much more over her neck, this helped to secure the cap in place without any entrance of water into the cap. She does not yet submerge her head into the water, so I don't know if it is completely waterproof (at the edges). If she stays a longer time in the outdoor pool when it's hot outside, she does sweat a little inside the cap. The color is very bright and vibrant. If you have a child with this cap on at the beach or in a public pool, it will be very easy to spot your child. Also, I would assume that this color, over another darker color, would be best for outdoor use, in the sun, to prevent an increase absorption of heat from the sun. I wish that swim caps would have more of a variety of sizes for people with different sizes of heads.

I'm glad I bought this on sale for around $5
This cap is not worth what they are up asking. It does not fulfill the promise of keeping hair dry by a long shot. In the past I used a regular silicone cap and wet my hair and put in just a tiny bit of conditioner in it before putting on the cap and hopping in the pool. This cap will NOT stay on my head if my hair is wet. When I put it on with my hair dry, it pulls at the tiny hairs around my neck and slides up. Once the hair around the edges is wet it will not stay when I pull it back down. I'm glad I bought this on sale for around $5. At the current listed price of around $13, I wouldn't give it even 3 stars. I would have sent it back and for a refund at that price. It does serve it's general function of being a swim cap and not falling off completely when I swim, so three stars it is.

Seems well made, but slips off my head too easily while swimming.
I bought this along with another silicone cap because the silicone cap I already have was slipping off my head every few hundred meters. This one was about twice as expensive as the other one I ordered, and it does seem to be well made and looks like it will be durable, but unfortunately it didn't make a dramatic difference with the slipping problem. The cheap one I bought, on the other hand, is working very well. It's not as thick as this one, and that may lead to less durability, but it stays on my head WAY better than this Swim Culture cap. If you don't have problems with caps slipping off, you'll probably like the quality of this cap, but at least in my case, it didn't solve the problem I bought it to solve. I'm a male with fairly short hair and what I would describe as an average size/shape head, so it's possible this cap would do better on a head with longer hair.

Better than no cap at all, but not perfect for me.
I like that it does not pull my hair, however it does slip both in the front and in the back. I have shoulder length hair and pile it all on top, so I'm not sure if the slippage is due to my hair length or just a result of the product itself. I will say that I have a very small head for an adult, so I would have thought that even with some hair, that this would meet my needs and expectations. Even with my small top-knot, there appears to be plenty of room in the cap. I think the fact that it is silicone is what is causing the slipping. I have had mixed results...sometimes my hair is damp, other times it has been completely soaked, which is unsettling because I have chemically treated hair (ok, I'm a bleach blond, we do have more fun!) and with all my swimming, I don't want to wind up with green hair!I will say that the cap seems stretchy/elastic enough, and does seem to be of good quality.

Maybe with a larger size.
I think I had much higher expectations then I should have going into this swim cap then it could have delivered. I do believe it was partially my fault in not getting a cap specifically for long hair. My hair comes a bit past my shoulders and it was too much hair and too small of a cap. I purchased it to use on my vacation since I didn't need to get my hair wet in the pool or ocean due to just getting it dyed. I was constantly having to pull the cap down and adjust it to cover my hair while pulled in a bun. Maybe with a larger cap I would be able to speak for waterproofing but I was unable to submerge at all and most of the time the edges of my hair became wet irregardless of my attempts.

Great swim cap
This has been a great swim cap for the several weeks I have used it. It keeps my mid-neck length hair out of eyes and helps hold goggles in place without getting tangled in hair. If put on correctly, it keeps hair relatively dry - just be sure your skin is dry when donning cap as wet skin prevents obtaining a good seal. It secures to dry forehead, temples, ears, neck quite well, and stays in place for "regular" swimming (no diving, splashing, underwater gyrations). I swim laps in an indoor pool, and this cap works very well for me if I don't try to re-adjust fit when I'm already in the water. As soon as I leave the pool I rinse my swim cap in cool tap water to remove chlorine, place a soft rolled up hand towel inside to hold form and allow to air dry. When thoroughly dry, fold and place in protective zipper pouch that came with the cap. With proper care (as suggested by Swimculture) the cap still feels and functions like it's brand new.HINT: This cap is very different from what we wore in the 1960's and I initially struggled trying to put it on. Once I watched YouTube videos and learned how to don my new silicone swim cap, it became a very simple process.
