Bought this after the factory power cord died in less than a year. It has worked great and picks up traffic well (tried another that didn't do so well with the traffic). I would happily recommend this as a cost-effective replacement to the factory power cord.+ Perfect replacement for broken traffic-enabled Magellan power cords.+ Supports the traffic function... a regular USB cord will not (the antenna for traffic is in the cord).+ Cable is plenty long for most purposes without being too long.+ Plug is sturdy and easy to plug in and remove.+ Plug has a LED to show when it's getting power.* The USB end that plugs into the GPS is oriented so that the cable points upwards.TIP: Because the power cord does point up at the GPS, I would strongly suggest draping the cable over the stand so that it does not bend the wires too tightly.. they will eventually break.

I have not had it long enough to determine how well built it is, but is feels solid and works great. Does not try to pop out of the socket like some badly built products, and it does not get hot. It has a small non-intrusive light to show it is receiving electricity. The only complaint is that the power cord is way too short.

I still prefer the Magellan to using the phone for finding my way around. Grandkids lost the other cable, so I was glad I could get a replacement.

I purchased this item in August 2015 to replace my OE charger. It was good while it lasted (only 10 months). The price was right & it performed just like the original. Would I purchase this item again, I think not. I am looking for something else to replace this one.

The connector to the usb is upside down on the charger I received, to the one pictured here. So when its plugged into the left side of my Magellan 5230 and 5265, the cord is at the top of the plug, before hanging down - as opposed to the cord just hanging straight down. Very disappointed in this as Im sure I just paid for a factory second that wasn't assembled correctly. It works fine (theres not a charger light on it like the OEM, by the way), but if I ever need another one Ill just go to the Magellan website next time and buy from their stock.

Didn't last two weeks and the tip of the DC lighter plug bent. Very cheap plug. Cable was thick and comprable to original but if the cigarette lighter plug can't hold up it defeats the remainder of the quality cable. Wouldn't buy again after returning for refund.

Everything working exactly as expected including updates via traffic module on Magellan 5255T-LM.
