Not exactly a "how to" book, but clearly illustrates different techniques.

I didn't bought it for myself, my customer was pleased with the product though, so I am guessing everything was as she desired!

For someone new to pastel, I learned a lot from this small book. It may not be huge, but it certainly is engaging and clear, because I was able to learn a new skill in no time. I love the Walter Foster Art books, every one I try does not disappoint, and they are great for any level of artist. There is no fluff and unnecessary matter to get through to the good stuff, it's good stuff from start to finish. Amazing Amazon carries a great selecton of these books at the best price. Recommended.

使用するツールから、色彩の基礎　パステルのテクニックハッチッング、クロスハッチング、サイドストローク、スッテイピンググラデーション、ブレンデイング等 多数の技法を掲載している初めに写真の女性像があり、はがき大の大きさから、Ｐ８位で制作している。輪郭から明暗、色付けバックを塗って仕上げている。子供や、風景で輝きを放つ陽光と雲と手前の小高い丘での作品のプロセスを掲載している。灯台とその周辺を描いた作品もあり面白い。静物では、黄色いバラの花があり暗闇に浮かび、バックの色と上手くマッチしている。そして、水差し容器とトマトの構成で白黒で形を決めて光と影の調子を捉えている。最後に田舎の川と、小さな山と画面の多くを占める雲の構成で制作され、自然の持つ美しい風景が制作されている。只、写真を使用するのは、いいが　実際に　現場に何度の足を運んで五感で感じたものを作品化すれば、実在感がより感じられると思う。まず、現場に行き　その時受けた　瞬間的な感動を絵にする事が重要だと思う。全部で６４ページ。
