Not bad, not bad!
Really cool and accurate tester. Talks and lights up according to stones. Very accurate. Moissanite and Diamonds can get similar readings though. Identifies sapphire and let's you know if you hit metal.

Total junk!!
The worst ever…I have ordered this item twice thinking the first one was faulty, it wasn’t, it’s just junk. Let’s start with the dock, it’s useless and doesn’t work. I have tried too many times and it just refuses to charge the unit. Now let’s discuss the testing unit itself. It’s testing real diamonds as moissanite. Yes, I tested items that I’m 100% certain they are genuine natural diamonds. I’m baffled. How an item for this price range to be this bad.

Won't differentiate between genuine and lab. Only genuine and moiisanite
This item has been extremely accurate. I'm very happy with it. but if you're looking for something that can determine lab created this isn't it. those are far more expensive and I've heard not nearly 100% accurate.

Above the Best
The Diamond tester worked flawlessly. I found it to be very reliable and have checked all types of jewelry with it, only one time did it come up Moissanite. This was probably due to the diamond having oil on it. Make sure the diamond and tip of tester are both clean. The tip of the tester is also spring loaded, making it more durable and less likely to bend form pressing the tip on the diamond hard. Very comfortable fit in my hand. Comes with rechargeable batteries which were dead upon arrival and a base for recharging the batteries. I put in 3 AAA regular batteries with the first tests and worked fine, then I put in the rechargeable batteries, charged them up in the base station and it worked fine also. The tester voice is clear, precise and understandable. You have both voice and visual recognition with the tester. One of 4 lights will also come on with the test. Green for Diamond, Blue for Moissanite, Pink for Sapphire and Red for Metal contact. It comes pre-program with english but has other languages that can be programed in. Made this purchase from amazon and shipping took about 3 days.

Extremely poor quality and looks like 3 year olds assembled it.
Bottom line is that the device does a good job distinguishing between diamonds and other stones. Unfortunately, the buyer (in my case that's me) will need duct tape, patience, and a bit more money to make it work. The box arrived undamaged and I expected everything to be built well and actually function once the included rechargable batteries were charged. What a dissapointment it was when this didn't happen.I put the batteries into the tester and placed it on the charger. Nothing happened, no lights, no noise, nothing. I wondered if the battery that was coated in a white powder that I wiped off was the problem, thnking it had to be a dead cell leaking some toxic compoud on me and everything included in the box. Unfourtanately, that wasn't the entire problem.I purchased new rechargeable batteries and cleaned out the inside of the decice where the batteries go. It was finally time to charge things up and test some stones. I installed the new batteries (purchased at my own cost and placed it on the charger. Nothing happened, no lights, no sounds, nothing.I spent time adjusting the tester on the included charger for a good 5 minutes and finally a light came on showing it was charging. I was ecstatic, finally things were working. I moved the charger over a little, away from the edge of the counter where I was working on it. All the lights went off and back to nothing. After several more minutes trying to get it charging again I figure out that if I do things just right, I can get the part that holds the batteries in to stay on by itself (did I mention the awful construction). After some more work trying to get it to charge, I got the light to come on again. No moving it this time.A full night passes and the tester is ready to go. It works great! at least as long as I keep putting the back on that holds the batteries in the device. Time for some tape to hold this closed. After testing several stones, I'm very pleased with the accuracy of the tester. By the end of the evening, the batteries were dead. Time to charge the tester. I put it on the charger and, yes sir, no lights. Moving it around for several minutes and trying several techniques to get it to charge, I finally get the lights to come on.I think I might be better off pulling the internals out of the tester and using cardboard to build an outer layer that makes proper connections to the charger. I haven't done it yet and will see what the seller and company have to say first. As you can tell, this tester will frustrate you beyond words, will require an additional $10 - $20 in materials and good batteries, and will do a great job at testing stones. You are just going to look like you crawled out of a boxcar where you live when you use this thing taped together and praying that it charged when it was on the tester.

Stopped working after only one use
I used this tester when I first got it and everything seemed great. Went to use it again a few days later, and multiple times since then, and only registers each stone as a diamond. I can test it against gold and it still reads "diamond", no matter what I test it on. I followed the user guide on cleaning the tip and resetting the tester, and still doesn't work. Wish I could return it.
