These are the best starters available.
These are small packets of rocket fuel (hexamine) for the fire place. They burn clean, without smoke or odor, Each packet will burn ~10 minutes or so which is the key advantage, lasting long enough to get the fire going. No need to unwrap it, I just set one below the wood, light the wrapper with a single match and I have a fire a few minutes later. Zero failures.

Easiest way to get any fire up and running.
Trying to get a fire going in the woods with nothing but a flint/fire starter? Raining? Wood still a little green? Not a problem. We have tried many various tinder to get fires up and running, especially in wet/raining environments. These out performed ALL others (including the special home brew stuff) by a long shot..Instructions say you have to open the packet, you do not.. one hit with a Bear Grylls fire starter and these things go up. On the same note, these are very flammable so maybe keep in a different pocket than your lighters, flint, etc.Once up, these give a hot, full sized flame for their full advertised time... even in light rain. Slightly shorter in full rain. These have become another highly advised item for everyone in my squad.

They work really well. A little pricy and I will most likely wait till sales occur before I purchase any more.

Hot stuff
These little packets really get the job done. With large logs and a little bit of kindling, there are no flame-outs.
