This helps little readers understand the important things in life are spending time with family
I liked this book because it showed that we should not take the time we have with our family (in this case, a mother & a daughter) for granted.Although the day does not go as they had planned and things they were very excited to do got put on the back burner, at the end of the day, they were happy just to spend time together

mother-daughter time
Love this book, about busy weekends with those things we "always" do and then the special things we so look forward to too. My kids and I can definitely relate to the go go go weekends and also the occasional wrench in our plans - and the gentle reminder that in the end the being together is what makes it special.

Oge Mora Does it Again!
In this house we absolutely love anything written by Oge Mora! Saturday is a story that my children and I can definitely relate to. Things don't always go as planned and that's okay. Once you have each other, there is no limit to fun you can create and have.

A touching wonderful story.
Even an off day is special (and can be salvaged) when you’re with someone you love. As a mom, I too have know the sadness when best laid plans for a special day with my kid doesn’t go right. This book had me teared up by the end. Such a beautiful story with great illustrations.

Mom
As the mom, I loved this story. So sweet and hits upon experiences and people over things. Plus, the visuals are just so appealing. My daughter, who is four, liked it but it was clearly something I enjoyed more.

Saturday by Oge Mora
I purchased this book for my 3-year-old daughter earlier in the year and we have really been enjoying it. My daughter especially loves that Ava, the little girl in the story, looks like her--with brown skin and dark hair. This book has a wonderful message that any child and parent will appreciate!

An ode to the working parent’s weekend
Family means we take turns lifting each other up. Mora’s book is a wonderful reminder that as parents we often lift our children’s spirits in the face of disappointment, and they will learn to return the favor. Beautiful illustrations full of details to explore together. 10/10
