EZ-POUR® RIGID Replacement Spout & Vent Kit, Multi-Purpose Spout, Pack of 1

This is a money-saving purchase that helps keep older, high-quality cans going. The kit comes with 2 screw caps (yellow & black), each tailored to the thread size of several brands of can. The black one fit my 2.5 gal GOTT can with a perfect, dripless seal. The original spout end cap of my can had gone missing, and in fact it never fit securely. It was really intended to fit UNDER the screw cap and act as a gasket there, and only be slipped over the tip of the spout and used temporarily there while in the field, to keep out bugs and crud. But I got lazy and left it on the spout all the time. That's why it disappeared. THIS end cap has ONE purpose: snap on and seal the end of the spout. It does that well; it even has a gasket. My only concern is that the kit does not come with a retainer for the end cap. Popping it on and off with gloves, and especially in snow, in the dark or in a lot of leaf duff in the woods, it could also go missing. The cap DOES have a little loop tab, though, so I'll fit a cord through that, with a loop around the handle. Sure, it will catch on things and dangle in the way when pouring, but oh well... The main thing is that my tough old can is new again, and it works better and more simply than the complicated, thin-walled, and more expensive cans you see today. BTW the kit comes with a replacement vent cap that I didn't use. But I'll keep THAT for the day when the original vent cap goes missing.

This fit my gas can perfectly!! I have been looking for a spout for a while now but didn't want one of those stupid safety spouts. I seem to have all kind of problems with safety spouts and always spill some gas but this spout worked great! I didn't spill a drop...Love It....10 STARS

Works better than original older 5 gal. spout because has larger diameter opening which pours faster.

I absolutely love EZ-POUR Rigid Spout. In fact, I bought one for each of my gas tanks because, just as the product called, IT'S EASY TO POUR. Today's spouts have all these safety features that not only make it hard to pour but they also pour gas everywhere except where I want it to go. As long as companies making spouts that doen't work, I will continue to replace my spouts using EZ-POUR Rigid Spout. Oh, I also wanted to share that the vacuum release nipple is very easy to install. I have spent many years getting completely irritated with the mandated and very complicated nozzles on every gas can sold since 2009. To me, they are like some sort of engineered torture, designed to make the simple task of getting gas out of a container and into a gas tank as difficult as possible. Just the other day I tried to put gas in my mower. The can had been sitting in the sun, and pressure had built up. When I was finally able to get the nozzle to open, gas sprayed directly into my mouth and eyes. That was not a pleasant experience. At that point, I was done. I got online, found this nozzle, and decided to order it. It arrived yesterday. It screwed on easily and fit my 5 gallon gas can perfectly. No leaking. And best of all, the gas came out. All I had to do was lift the can up, stick the nozzle into my mower, and lo and behold, the gas flowed. No buttons to push, no forcing a nozzle contraption to open that doesn't want to, and no gas leaking or spraying everywhere. Who knew. I have since ordered 2 more.

Anyone who has tried to pour gasoline or diesel out of a modern spout has wondered why the new spouts dribble and are hard to handle. The answer is...the federal rules governing fuel cans were apparently written by the same lot who brought us 'child-resistant' medicine bottles.The EZ-Pour rigid spout works around all that gumph. One selects the right ring for the can one is using, tightens it over the spout, and pours away. When finished, one screws the small yellow cap in place on the end of the spout.However, store the can out of direct sun, since heat can and will blow up a plastic can like a balloon if one does not install the provided vent cap. This is not a bug, buta testimony to how well the spout seals the can.Have bought before; will likely buy in the future.

Works great, turns your P.O.S. gas can into a reasonably useful thing again

I installed the vent plug on two cans. One snapped off at 2 years, the other at 3 years. Both times, I had just filled my plastic cans with gas and was left scrambling to find something to plug the hole before transporting them from the gas station. Don't expect a long life; the vents seem to be cheap plastic.
