NO NAUSEA, GREAT Supplement, But You Need Separate DHA Supplement Too
As an expectant father, I was very happy to find out my wife and I are expecting a baby next spring. As a loving husband and future-parent, I wanted the BEST for my child. But because I am new to fatherhood, I went to Google to search for the BEST prenatal vitamin for my wife. Of all the ones that came up via several parenting sites and forums, New Chapter was one of the top ones on everyone's list. The only place that had them locally was Whole Foods. While I normally don't shop there, Whole Foods are extremely health-focused, so it made sense to look to compare what they had. After 45 minutes of sitting on the floor comparing the ingredients of all their prenatal vitamins, one gentleman with his wife (who looked like she was about to pop) picked these up. I asked him why he chose those over the other various brands available at Whole Foods and he said it was the only one that didn't make his wife sick and he said she tried all of them. He also said that these were made of whole foods, so it's good for her. In addition to what that guy said, of all the ones at Whole Foods, these were the only ones that didn't have any fish-related ingredients. Anything fish-based makes my wife EXTREMELY nauseous. Then we went to our doctor for our first visit after her pregnancy test. I showed our doctor the prenatal vitamins and she said these were good BUT we needed DHA for our baby's development. Rather than buying a whole new prenatal vitamin with DHA, we decided to keep taking these since we knew it didn't make my wife sick (even on an empty stomach). I went back to Whole Foods to look for a DHA supplement. Of all the ones at Whole Foods, the only one that wasn't fish-based was Spectrum Essentials Prenatal DHA Softgels, 200 mg SoftGels, 60 Count Bottle . My wife absolutely adores both the Spectrum DHA and New Chapter prenatal vitamins. By taking both, we have the peace of mind that these two supplements are providing everything that our baby needs and my wife is EXTREMELY happy that she is able to take both pills, even on an empty stomach and have no sickness/nausea whatsoever. There is no bad taste and the smell of these pills are actually pleasing. Icing on the cake is that my wife's skin and nails grow EXTREMELY fast. While I wouldn't think that as a pro, she loves it. Having gone through an entire first bottle already, when i went back to Whole Foods, I was alarmed to see that they were $65 (I bought them on sale last with the initial purchase). I ended up buying our 2nd batch of pills through Amazon, which had them for nearly half the price.

Life changing vitamins!!!
I never EVER write reviews, but I have been raving about this Prenatal vitamin for the past 2 months ever since I started taking it so I thought I would add my two cents. This prenatal vitamin works wonders for my body. I am a 26 year old female who is trying to conceive. I was taking some lame store-bought vitamins before this (do not take the VitaFusion chewies, the vitamin A is sourced from animals and not good for you or baby long-term).... and when my doctor prescribed me prenatals, I noticed they had a lot of extra baggage in them like dyes and preservatives. I didn't want to put that in my body so I never even took one. I did some research and found New Chapter. The most wonderful thing has happened to me while taking these prenatals. I am someone who normally gets a cold or some kind of illness every 6 weeks at least.... usually more... I usually just feel like crap all the time. Low energy, depression and anxiety, digestive issues, feeling run-down in general. I started taking these in the winter time in NY, and it was a rough winter. I watched my husband go through a nasty cold and several times I thought I caught his cold or some other cold- but I would take the vitamins and wake up in the morning feeling completely fine! I used to take 2 of them at night, and recently changed it to all 3 in the morning, so that I could start the day with a boost. I have a sensitive stomach and these really never mess with my stomach. I also added New Chapter Co-enzyme B food complex, which has given me a HUGE burst of long-lasting energy to the point where my eyes feel like they can see clearer and my head is not in a fog. This is a transformative, life-changing thing for me. I suppose it will vary for each person, depending on if you start out feeling like I felt, or if you're normally a high energy and lively person. I was not and now I'm starting to see that I can be that way simply by adding supplements to my diet. I tell everyone about these vitamins (also recommend the Vitamin B) and I hope more people learn that they don't have to feel bad all the time and there IS a way to give your body the energy it craves. By taking these vitamins and feeling better, it also encourages me to get to the gym and get many more things accomplished in my day. That is why it is life-changing. I no longer need a nap in the middle of the day- what?!!! I will lay down for a nap and then realize I'm not tired so I get up and do more stuff. That is unheard of, my entire life I have been a mid-day napper. Between that and never getting sick, I'm thoroughly impressed. I hope my review will help someone. I am a real person and I'm being totally honest here. Try out the vitamins and you'll be writing a review yourself.

Quality product to supplement a clean, wholesome diet
I've been taking this prenatal multivitamin almost continuously since the pre-conception season of my first child - which means, for nearly five years. It has supported me through three pregnancies and lactation periods. I believe that you can't out-supplement a poor diet. Even though this is a high quality vitamin, I know that I have to eat well to fully nourish myself and my growing baby. As a Weston A Price mama, I carefully follow this diet: http://www.westonaprice.org/health-topics/diet-for-pregnant-and-nursing-mothers/ Still, there are times when I don't feel well enough to eat as much protein as I should, or days when we eat out, or a weekend when we visit family and gratefully accept whatever is on the menu. For those days, I'm especially thankful for this vitamin. Okay, so there have been times when I felt like I should be fine without taking a prenatal multi because of my good diet, so I purposefully stopped taking them. Within a week, I could feel the difference. Other times, I wanted to try a different brand; the other brand didn't nearly satisfy my feeling of well being. In general, the obvious signs of doing well on this multivitamin include strong nails and thick hair, even in the postpartum period; clear, bright skin; energy; good sleep, etc. This vitamin, combined with a great, clean diet, works really well for me! Here is how I take it: With a glass of fresh milk, before each meal - one with breakfast, lunch, and supper (3 pills a day). More good news: I've never had an upset stomach from taking this multi and it's not hard to swallow. I'm due in about 3 months, and at that time, I'm looking forward to trying the new Perfect Postnatal Multivitamin: http://www.newchapter.com/moms/perfect-postnatal In sum, give this multivitamin a try! It's worth the price.

Great for baby and mom
I absolutely love these prenatal vitamins! Originally I was using Rainbow One prenatal vitamins prior to becoming pregnant. Rainbow One is much more affordable and has a fairly good ingredient profile. However, it was always my plan to switch to the New Chapter Perfect Prenatal once I found out I was pregnant. I feel like for 9 months, I can afford this multivitamin. The ingredient profile is incredible! So far I am really enjoying these! They do not cause any discomfort and I have not had any nausea during my pregnancy thus far. At first I was hesitant to taking 3 pills each day, but I've found that taking 2 in the morning and 1 at night works for me. I never forget to take the morning pills, and have a reminder on my phone for the evening pill. Taking one at lunch just doesn't work for my schedule. With the Rainbow One prenatal vitamin, I did notice my urine was a bright, neon yellow after taking the vitamin. This can be from an excess of vitamin B that your body can't absorb, so it excretes it in your urine. With the New Chapter prenatal vitamin this is not the case. Perhaps this is because I spread the vitamins out throughout the day, or because it is a higher quality vitamin. Regardless, it assures me that my body is absorbing the nutrients appropriately and nothing is going to waste. With this being said, I can see myself going back to the Rainbow One prenatal vitamins once our baby arrives, as I'm not sure we can afford this price tag during nursing. I eat an extremely healthy diet, so I may even go off prenatal vitamins entirely at that time.

Great ingredients, good value, but lots of bloating
This is a great balance of nutrition and value. There are other prenatals on the market that have more ingredients and higher nutrition, but they also cost more. I do my best to eat organic when it is affordable, and I try really hard to eat whole foods as much as possible. This philosophy also crosses over into my choice for prenatal vitamins. A few months ago I was taking Emerald Laboratories Prenatal Multi Vitamin, it is a great product and my best friend takes them with no problem...but for me it caused terrible stomach ache and bloating. Now I'm using New Chapter Perfect Prenatal and I don't experience the stomach ache. But I still get bloating and lots of stinky gas. The reason I mention this is because different people will experience different things, you just don't know how your body will react until you try it. I'm determined to keep using New Chapter Prenatal vitamins, I might try taking a probiotic supplement with it to help with digestion and hopefully reduce the amount of stinky gas. Perhaps the whole food ingredients (like broccoli) are difficult for my stomach and I need extra enzymes to break it down. On a positive note, I experienced less discomfort when I took the vitamins right before bed time. When I took the vitamins first thing in the morning, right around 5pm I would get super bloated and gassy. Just in time to ruin dinner and an evening with my husband. If I take the vitamins at night right before bed then my bloating arrives in the morning, and that timing just works out better for me personally. If the probiotics help with my situation I'll be sure to update my review with the new information.

Great prenatal vitamins
I took the New Chapter Perfect Prenatal Multivitamins during my first pregnancy and continued while breastfeeding. I am taking them again now in preparation for the next pregnancy. I love that they are organic. They do not taste bad when I need to swallow them or leave any type of after taste. They have never made me sick, either. I highly recommend these to all of my friends and family. I read a breakdown of the recommended minimum vitamin intake for pregnant women on WebMD and compared them to the pubished supplement facts for these vitamins. The recommended vitamin intake article is available here: http://www.webmd.com/baby/guide/prenatal-vitamins. This is what I found when I compared them: Recommended Perfect Prenatal 400 mcg of folic acid 600 mcg 400 IU of vitamin D 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 200 to 300 mg of calcium 75 mg 70 mg of vitamin C 60 mg 3 mg of thiamine 4 mg 2 mg of riboflavin 5 mg 20 mg of niacin 20 mg 6 mcg of vitamin B12 30 mcg 10 mg of vitamin E 30 IU 15 mg of zinc 7.5 mg 17 mg of iron 18 mg Based on the above, in comparison to the recommended amounts, the Perfect Prenatal Vitamins appear to be short on calcium, Vitamin C and Zinc. Of course, the Perfect Prentals list lots of other things in the Supplement Facts, but I just was comparing what the article said was necessary. I still am taking them because I think I can make that up in my regular diet.

great whole food prenatal
This is a great whole food prenatal vitamin that I could take while I was pregnant and did not have any side-effects of nausea that I would have with other non-whole food prenatal vitamins. I absolutely recommend taking an organic whole food multivitamin before, during and after pregnancy or always. What is great is that you know you are not getting any additives in these that you wouldn't want to put in your system in the first place like aspartame (yes, aspartame is put in vitamins!). This is a great value to purchase these on the internet vs. Whole Foods or a supplement/health store, which I found out runs $80+. The only con that I have found with these prenatal vitamins is that these are large hard pills and the dosage is 3 pills/day. There is an alternative and comparative brand: Garden of Life, organic whole food vitamins that are in capsules. This brand dosage is also 3 pills/day, but they are capsules and not hard giant pills, making them easier to swallow. When taking these two different types, I did notice I excreted more excess/non absorbed vitamins with the New Chapter compared to the Garden of Life. I'm not sure if this is indicative to the way these supplements are formulated: hard pill vs. capsule or a higher quantity of one type of vitamin over the other. Either way, both these brands are superior to other brands of prenatal vitamins on the market, and I'll venture to say, their lines of vitamins and supplements are most likely superior than all the others too.

Great Natural Vitamins
I absolutely love these prenatal as they are natural and didn't actually cause me to gag or vomit compared to all the prescription prenatals given to me by my OB/GYN. However, I found that I must take these early in the morning on an empty stomach or else it cause me indigestion and the feeling as though I need to vomit. This was not always the issue, as during my first trimester, I took the same pills but the smaller count New Chapter Perfect Prenatal Vitamins Fermented with Probiotics + Wholefoods + Folate + Iron + Vitamin D3 + B Vitamins + Organic Non-GMO Ingredients - 96 ct and I could take them anytime of the day. Unfortunately, as I embrace on the end of my second trimester, it seems that things have change and I must ingest these at the beginning of my day on an empty stomach. The ingredients are simple with no added chemicals compare to some prescription prenatals that are prescribed by doctors. It does NOT have folate in it but folic acid, however, that wasn't a big deal to me. For me the natrural ingredients was what I wanted and was happy I could take this because with my daughter 10 years ago, I could only take the Flintstones vitamins. While she was born healthy, I wanted to ensure that this baby got the correct dosage of vitamins as I'm much older now.
