Does this really need a review

Richie and Ronnie. What a pair of music geniuses! Every track is mind blowing. As for the shipping, if was totally unsatisfactory. I finally received it after over a month, so I give it one star fat shipping and ten stars for Rainbow.

This review isn't so much about the musical content of this album, but the quality of this long over-due re-issue as a package. I was expecting a lot after not seeing this LP on the (internet) shelves for so long. What I got was a real faith-restorer. All the original pictures on the gatefold are there, and nothing is been disturbed on the outer-sleeves either. The LP is a nice, thick slab of vinyl. Nice upgrade. Best of all - the mastering/pressing quality is excellent. The original LP had a very polite character to it, which made it's engineering sound a little bland. This one comes alive by comparison. It isn't overly bright, or a victim of volume wars, it's as if the mastering room had a complete upgrade in the quality of the components they use. Very impressive sound quality. Had they included all the lyrics on an extra sheet of the record sleeve I would have given it five stars. The lyrics to Greensleeves are still on the back cover however. Buy with confidence if you like Dio/Rainbow/Blackmore/70's rock.

I only played the first song on this album for the longest time. But the rest is pretty good too. Now that I’ve listened to it.

What a great album by an amazing band that no one ever heard of. Dio's vocals are incredible. Blackmore's guitar work is gorgeous. The fact that he fired the band after this recording might lead you to suspect that there is something wrong with this effort. There is NOTHING wrong with this effort. There is everything RIGHT. The drumming is amazing. The bass is a treat. It's really a perfect album. Call it hard rock, call it metal, doesn't matter. Just great, powerful music. And what can I say about Dio's singing? Stunning. Simply the best.

Good Album, although I assume if you are in the market for this you like the album. In terms of the quality of the "Wax Cathedral" pressing I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and sound. I couldn't be happier. It also comes with an anti-static sleeve similar to those from mofi, and a nice gate-fold cover. I wish all reproductions of classic albums on vinyl were this nice. I do not have a super expensive audiophile sound system and turntable, so I can't comment on the extreme details of sound quality, but is sounded great on my turntable. (Pro-Ject Debut Carbon with Ortofon 2M Red)

Excellent debut album. Well worth a listen. Arrived promptly but has cracks in the case. Try to package better for the post delivery.

Quel plaisir de retrouver Dio au chant et Ritchie Blackmore super guitariste dans le groupe Rainbow. Superbe album. Envois impeccable.

Amazing sound quality, superb playback! The whole album means a lot to me on a sentimental basis.
