Monterey (LG1142 - Mark-It Blue Spray Solution Colorant, Chemical Marker Dye for Insecticide, Herbicide, and Fungicide (16 oz.)

I used the Monterey "Mark it Blue Dye" for first time, it worked great! I used with the application of approximately 11 gallons of two different types of herbicides. It is easy to use and not too strong but just strong enough to mark your sparying, the dye will wash off but definitely wear gloves and dark clothing when using. The dye saved me from missing and overspraying the herbicides! Herbicides aren't cheap so it saved me times and money, a must have and use when you're doing a spray applications to vegetation.

I use a marking dye when I am spraying herbicides on my lawn or driveway. Sometimes it is hard to tell whether you have already sprayed a particular weed. Particularly if you are working over a large area and then come back to make sure you didn't miss something. If you are just looking for a glint of moisture that can be hard to see or it may have dried by the time you make your way back around to that particular location.With a marking dye you know if you have sprayed a particular spot or weed. With marking dye you can see if you sprayed something that you didn't intend to and you can pour water on the leaves of the plant that you didn't intend to harm. It is also very useful for safety. You can see if you have gotten the herbicide on your hands, shoes, pants or elsewhere. Sometimes the spray, due to a clog, may come out in an unintended direction. And you can wash off the herbicide before it gets a chance to soak in.You can even come back a few days later to see if the herbicide is starting to have an effect. Sometimes I come back to inspect things and wonder why a particular weed isn't wilting and then I realize that I don't see any traces of marking dye and that I must have missed it the first time around. The dye fades away with time and in a week or so you can hardly see it. It doesn't leave a permanent mark.A marking dye makes it much easier to spot spray your lawn and be sure you hit everything you wanted to. You waste less product this way, because you aren't spraying the same spot twice which also helps to make sure you don't injure your lawn by applying too much herbicide to a particular location.

Used this product with Tenacity herbicide in. 2 gallon battery powered sprayer. It marks the area you sprayed fine but pouring it out of the plastic container to measure the correct amount to add is more than challenging and you had better do it over a tarp or some other impervious surface as it will stain concrete or brick. Also wear disposable gloves because it will stain your fingers as well. It does, however perform as advertised allowing you to see the spots you have sprayed and disappears from your lawn quickly. Really would like to see a change to the container to make pouring less messy and I would give it 5 stars.

Be careful handling this product.It seems, no matter what you do, it goes everywhere. It does cleanup (fairly) easily.Would suggest adding a dispensing pump rather than just pouring it out of the cap.

This guy s VERY concentrated, which is a good thing for its intended purpose.

Bought for applying herbicides to lawn by sprayer.Allows you to view where you've already sprayed so that you don't go over the same area multiple times and don't miss areas.So long as you're prompt about washing:Easy to wash out of the sprayer, doesn't permanently stain the tank.Easy to wash over-spray off of concrete, doesn't permanently stain the side-walk/driveway/roadway.Easy to wash off clothes, my sprayer handle wasn't fully seated onto the hose and leaked at the beginning of the application. Splashed onto my jeans. A few hours later the jeans were washed and came out of the machine clean.Not as easy to wash off skin, my nitrile glove ripped at some point and my pinky was exposed to the dye. I immediately washed my hands but my pinky was still stained. I continued to wear nitrile gloves for the rest of the spraying period (lots of sweat in the glove), and then showered-up immediately after. By the time the shower was done my pinky was back to it's normal, non-blue, color.

Product arrived on time and was exactly what I needed

Mixed exactly to directions and it does help but it was not as dark blue as others I've used. I had to really double check to makes sure thst I wasn't double spraying area. I didn't feel like the color stood out as much as it need to on my grass.
