Good concept, but didn't work
This is a good concept in theory, but it didn't work for me.My foster dog is a boxer mix, with a tiny bit of AmStaff, Dobe, and Shar Pie in there. He's got an interestingly-shaped body, so sizing this was difficult for him. His neck is 18" at the base (by his shoulders), his chest circumference is 27", and he's 22" from the shoulder to the base of his tail. He's around 55 lbs and broad-shouldered too.I tried 3 sizes for him. The large was too short and XL was too loose, so I kept the large-long. It was extremely difficult to get him into it, and painful for him to get him out because of how I had to pull on/bend his front legs. I stuffed him back into it after his neuter anyway, figuring I could cut it off of him after. He wasn't confortable in it though because it was so tight. The real problem with this, however, is that it may keep a dog from chewing the incision site, but it does *not* prevent licking, which soaks the fabric, which gets the incision wet and allows bacteria from the dog's saliva to reach the incision. I tried a dog diaper under this to prevent that, but the dog's incision got infected anyway.Sooo the dog is 10 days post-surgury and is at around a day 4 level of healing (and he's been stuck in a cone - Comfy Cone because the plastic e-collar freaked him out - since day 2 when I realized the surgi-snuggly wasn't going to work)

So much better than the cone of shame!
This bodysuit made all the difference in my dog's surgery recovery! Corvo is a Peruvian Inca Orchid--a large, naturally hairless dog. He hated that plastic cone the vet sent; he couldn't eat or drink normally, he ran into everything, and because he's naked, the cone even cut into his skin! The Surgi Snuggly is soft, very lightweight, and fully adjustable, giving your beloved companions freedom of movement and a gentle hug all day. Corvo feels safe and secure when he's wearing it, and it covers his neuter incision completely. It was a little challenging to get the suit on my wiggly little boy, but that's mainly because he's still hurting from his surgery and it was uncomfortable for him to stand up while I put his legs through the front holes. The back portion was easy to fasten though, and thankfully, once the suit is on, you do NOT need to take it all the way off for your dog to go potty. Just undo the velcro and tuck the pieces into the pocket on the back--total freedom to potty normally! HIGHLY recommended for all pets recovering from injuries or surgery!**Corvo is 40 pounds. The Large fits great!

Seam opened after second wearing
Love the design and fit was perfect. As my dog has a deep chest, I bought a size larger than recommended for a standard poodle. Unfortunately after the second day of wearing, some of the seams tore open. If it was to small I would understand , but it was a perfect fit for my dog. Maybe if the company double stitches the seams this would not happen.

Every pet owner should have one of these
Exactly what we needed. Let's face it... the cone is an awful solution to a simple problem. We've been using kid size t shirts, which worked, as long as the dog was supervised. But left on their own the dog was able to get the t shirt off. This snuggie works great. Is a comfortable fit and she was able to wear it for days with no fuss at all. Easy to clean. Smart design makes it easy to accommodate potty stops. As my dog ages, I can see the ability to add a pad to catch random leaks will be a great benefit.I've already loaned this to a friend whose dog had surgery. After one day she was sold on how well it worked and ordered her own.The only drawback is that it is hard to determine what size you need. The one I purchased is a little big, but works ok.So if you find that your dog is somewhere between sizes, choose the smaller size because it is really stretchy.

Waste of Money- Thinnest wrap ever!
If you have any interest in your pet not getting to their wound, do not buy this item. It's a light fleece material on the same level as a thick paper towel.Any animal with a little motivation will eat through this with little effort.Unfortunately, we were too proactive and bought this before the surgery, only to try and use it after the return window closed.Ebay, here it comes...

F'n Awesome.
Awesome. I guess it helped that my pup wasnt interested in her stitches, but this looked MUCH better than that Cone of Shame.Fits easy, good sizing. I have a 50# black lab, and a large fit her well. Didnt need her privates secured so I rolled up the back and tucked it into the pouch up top. Easy. Washable, simple, works great.

Almost perfect
Well-designed for the most part. Covers what needs to be covered; dog is fine with it (I have a collie-ish breed: lots of fur). I would give it 5 stars, but they need to upgrade some of the design. The leg openings should be hemmed for more durability, and the fabric should be more heavy duty so as to be able to resist tearing on branches etc. Might be a good idea to have different weights based on levels of expected activity and terrain.

My puppy got neutered and the cone made him SO sad. I had the inflatable donuts that go around the neck but he was still able to reach the incision. This suit worked out so well. He was unable to lick the area and he seemed to be pretty comfortable. Would recommend!!!
