Great product, excellent value. Installed easily, didn't need gasket, no leaks. Works great, just what I needed.

This nut fit well, to replace the existing threaded one that had broken apart. For my application (flanged PVC drain pipe) I didn't use the rubber washer because with it, the nut wasn't close enough to thread onto the base drain housing. No more leaks. Delivery was timely.

Other reviews were correct. Won’t thread no matter how hard you try. Took out the rubber gasket and still would not thread. And while applying force the ring warps towards an oval which won’t work of course. Looks like a trip to the hardware store for me.Update. Went to hardware stores. Plural. Bought different pieces and they didn’t work either. Still not fixed. Plumbers tape holding it together until I have a free afternoon to figure this out.

I had a leak right after my kitchen sink trap and the first drain pipe fitting and the tapered rubber gasket seal that came with this lock nut did the trick in sealing it. If this nut does not seem to fit well on your sink trap, try first removing all gaskets and rings and try screwing it on. If it goes on tight then you have too many gaskets. I had to remove my hard plastic white gasket and just use the rubber one that came with this locknut, then after that it screwed on tight with no leaks.

I got a superior tools 1 1/2 inch wrench for tight spaces and it fits this nut. The nut I took off did not fit, but the nut was for a 1 1/2 inch pipe diameter. Though the nut I took off was not brass.Glad to have this brass nut.
