A Book of Keto Recipes...and So Much More
Last summer, after being blessed with a lifetime of good health, I developed a symptom common to diabetes, and to be honest, I panicked. While I waited several weeks for a doctor’s appointment, I started researching diabetes, learning so much more than I ever knew about the current approaching-epidemic level of diabetes (and insulin resistance which precedes it, sometimes by decades) as well as the history of this crisis and about carbohydrates, especially sugar, that contribute to it. If I had it and it had been bought about by poor dietary choices, I determined I could and would control it with better dietary choices. Along the way, I discovered sugarfreemom.com, a blog that so inspired me, as did Brenda Bennett who has been truly dedicated to resolving her own health issues and accommodating her offsprings’ food allergies...and using what she has learned to develop recipes for foods that are both appetizing AND healthful. Planning ahead for possible bad news, I started saving keto and low-carb recipes and other useful tidbits I found on her blog, while at the same time using up the unhealthful 'American Standard Diet' food products that would no longer be a part of my life if I was diagnosed with diabetes. But by the time Naturally Keto was published several months later, I already knew I was going to get the book and use it as my text for the low-carb/keto dietary regimen I had already concluded I have to pursue, regardless of my (hopefully, someday) yay-or-nay diagnosis. At this point, I have read so much about the deleterious effects of sugar, other carbohydrates that turn to sugar in our bodies, and processed sugar-added fake foods that I can no longer even think about taking them into my body without feeling cautionary pangs.Already familiar with Brenda’s blog, I knew to expect Naturally Keto would be replete with well-tested, picky husband and kids-approved recipes that would help sustain me while living ketogenic healthy. What I didn’t expect for the price was so much of so much more. This book has heft, figuratively and literally; the pages and cover are printed on quality paper, and every recipe is beautifully illustrated with full color photos throughout the book, and again in the index. (Love that!) Brenda prefaces her book by being brutally honest about her personal transition from sugar junkie to the determined young woman she has become, pursuing whatever is necessary to achieve good health for herself and her family and also willing to share with her followers all she has learned on her journey. Of major assistance to me, new to the keto product world, Brenda’s book lists, describes and compares staples necessary for a keto kitchen (including some of her preferred brands and even where to find them), plus the cookware, bakeware, small appliances, tools and gadgets she uses in making her recipes. Using quick-reference icons she indicates what allergies recipes accommodate to and other useful notes. Nutritional information is printed at the end of each recipe. Hints to help achieve the best results when preparing the recipes are included, along with storage information. The book also includes four weeks of sample keto meal plans, another service Brenda provides that, thanks to a super software program, makes substitutions and shopping lists for your keto meals a no-brainer. In the non-recipe part of the book she also provides helpful suggestions for dealing with issues that can arise from living the keto/low carb lifestyle, whether it is just you or you are trying to encourage others by your example.For all of this and so much more, I whole-heartily recommend this book to anyone who is going keto or low-carb for whatever reason. I think Brenda has done us a great favor by creating her all-encompassing, thoroughly-thought out and well-organized keto recipe-and-more book. One last thought: Back when I first faced that I might have to live a keto/low-carb dietary regimen, I told myself, virtuously (my OCD kicking in), that if I was going to limit carbs, I should commit all the way; I should quit sugar not only in fact, but in mindset. Consequently, I did not even look at any sweet snack or dessert recipes as I surfed sugarfreemom.com. But months later, having arrived, virtue intact, at the Desserts section of Naturally Keto (the title page HAD to feature Italian Cream Puffs?) it suddenly occurs to me I may have been a bit over zealous in my earlier commitment to confectionery stoicism, and those keto cream puffs sure look…Healthful (in moderation, of course).

Awesome! Excellent! Outstanding!
One word review- "Awesome".I've been on a low-carb/Keto diet for most of 10 years and early on I struggled to find easy recipes or meal and snack ideas. Many Keto recipes we've found over the years were too complicated or too expensive for everyday or frequent meals.Then we found sugarfreemom.com and Brenda's Instagram page and things started to change. There are a lot of good IG pages and blogs but this one just clicked with us. Many if not all her recipes and meal ideas are excellent, easy to implement into our daily meals and easy to make. We've tried many of her recipes either from Facebook, IG or her blog at sugarfreemom.com and have loved every one. Some time you will see a low carb/keto recipe for bread or cake and while it looks good, you make it and then toss it. Not with Brenda's recipes! They are just as good as they look!I have not made any recipes from this new book, but we did read it as soon as we got it and are super excited to start making things. My goal is to make every single item in the book. As a family, including 5 kids, we rate each meal 1-10 Stars and then my wife and I come to a conclusion of what to rate each recipe for future reference. This will be true with this book as well.This book is so well laid out that it is crazy. Starting out with an introduction to Keto and moving on to her journey to Keto really makes it personal and more real, not like other books we've seen where it looks like someone grabbed a bunch of recipes, printed it and put a cover on it. These are tried and true recipes that I can guarantee will be as awesome as they look.Her e-books are awesome too! Pumpkin recipe e-book and we are crazy excited about picking up her e-book titled "Everything but the Turkey Keto" which will help make Thanksgiving awesome this year.If you are on a Keto diet or thinking about going on it, picking up this book is a must! If you only buy one book, make it this one!!Starting off with dips and sauces as well as dressings, then moving to appetizers, mains and desserts,, you will not be disappointed in this!As an added bonus.......... the index of recipes in the back...... has a photo of the recipe next to the description! How awesome is that for quick reference!!Brenda thanks for making Keto easier for the rest of us to follow!

Great feel and look to this recipe book
Expensive but well designed with colorful pages. Is informative and easy to understand and follow recipes. A great addition to my kitchen collection.

Easy full illustration
Just received my book and am amazed how great it is. Pictures and menus, storage info, option how to cook etc Nothing to complicated if your new to keto you can't go wrong lots of info on keto also love how Brenda explains when she came to stalling points how we all have to move things about to suit individuals. Even index is perfect.Love it.

Fantastic best keto recipe book out there
Fantastic book. I am on the beginning of the keto diet. This is the best book by far. Would highly recommend it to anyone. It's my new best friend

Great Pictures,Straightforward Easy to Follow Recipes
Cutting carbs and sugar isnt hard to do with this book. I first started following Brenda on her sugarfreemom website and fell in love with her friendly attitude not to mention the recipes she shared. I heard about her book and ordered it on the spot.I love the easy to follow recipes and beautiful pictures that accompany them. I use the book often, my family loves the recipes also.I higy recommend this cookbook.

Yummy
I love love this cookbook. The only downfall is it cost me hundreds to get all the supplies she wants to be used in these recipes. This is my second time doing keto and I never used all these expensive protien powders in my recipes or bone broth (both really expensive to buy) I alter the recipes sometimes. But the recipes are great though!! :)

Great recipes
Bought this before i got pregnant to use millions of time, only got to handful of times use so far but love the recipes i tried. My kids loved the desserts especially, so do i. Amazing book and so well written.
