I can hold it to light and see a gap. I wrapped it with rubber bands to seal it. There is no sealing surface between the metal and plastic. I had to put a bead of RTV and clamped them together. Trimmed any excess that squeezed out. Let it cure for 2 days before installing.As others have mentioned, you have to dremel away the corners of the adapter to make this fit. Even with the trimming I did, it still wouldn't sit quite right. I had to also use a small self-adhesive weatherstrip around the MAF housing to get a good seal.Way too many possibilities for dirt to get into the intake.I'm going to put the stock airbox back in a few months once I've gotten 10-15,000 miles out of it. Just so I can feel I got some kind of money's worth out of it. Intake temps went up a little. Maybe 15 degrees.Sounds good under load, but was a pain to install.
