Awesome dry yeast!
This stuff is a beast. I used this in a cream ale. It helped with clarity, and for a dry yeast, was perking away the next morning. This is a great yeast for beers that you dont want added esters. Very clean fermentation and let your grains shine!

Brewed at room temp just fine
Brewed just fine at room temps (75 to 80 degrees), and did so pretty quickly with a decent flavor. I substituted this for the ale yeast that was called for in the kit recipe I had, the Ale yeast preferred something well below 75 degrees and that just wasn't going to happen in early summer here, and I don't have something like a basement to brew so I gave this a shot, it worked and produced beer. Is it the best beer in the world, I don't know, I'm not exactly a connoisseur, but it is beer that this produced and I like it well enough after dinner. The package was slightly out of date which was a concern but it still worked, hopefully they can restock fresher yeast.

Yeast is expired!!!
North Mountain Supply guarantees fresh and up-to date products.I would assume you will be sending me another Safale BE-134 please. The expiration is time stamps at the bottom of the packets guys. Looking at how many other complaints are on here about this very same topic, I would assume someone would have been looking more closely at this point.Send another.

Expired.
Expired by nine months but I had cooled the wort by the time I noticed it. Pitched it as I had no other option. I know it's freeze dried but I have to assume there's less viable yeast when it's this far past the expiration date. I would find another buyer based on this recurring issue in the reviews. If you order it please check your expiration date before you start brewing!

Good deal on reliable yeast
Very happy with the performance of this yeast. I had been a little skeptical when I got the loose packets in a mailer during some warm weather, thinking they may have been heat stressed. I direct pitched into a moderate strength IPA (1.058 OG) by sprinkling one packet on the top of the wort (sometimes I rehydrate, sometimes not) and it was actively fermenting the next day. Finished at 1.010. Neutral yeast character in the finished beer as expected.

Check the dates
Updated from 2 to 4 stars: North Mountain Supply honored their Freshness Warranty and replaced expired packs.Original: Arrived quickly and most are fine, but two out of eight of the packets were out of date.

Not as fresh as expected
I could not find the "North Mountain Supply Freshness Guarantee" anywhere. The yeast I received is eight months from expiration. OK I guess. But certainly at least 16 months old, maybe more. 1st packet used worked fine. OK.

Check dates you get what you pay for.
Not a fan, purchased two diff times, each time very poor fermentation results.
