Excellent hat. I wear it all the time when I'm outside and in the car it helps keep the sun out of my eyes. The brim is sturdy and the crown is relaxed, hence I get protection from the sun in comfort. I had another one and rather than wash the whole hat I just scrubber the sweat band. This had a rippling effect on the sweat band which made it bumpy to wear. No matter. I love it so much I bought another one. I don't think I'll wash it though I might rinse it and let it dry on the line. It's my work hat so I don't mind if it's dirty - proof of fun in the garden. Really well made hat with adjustable chin band. I have a small head and most hats are too big but this is a perfect fit. Love this hat.

This hat is a great value for the dollar. I had several hats over the years and this one is among the best ever.Not only is it a good sun blocker, it is adjustable for just about any size you need. It is vented, stylish, water repellant, light weight and it floats. Perfect for kayaking, hiking, mowing the lawn or other outdoor activities. The under your chin draw string helps prevent the wind from blowing your hat away.I am delighted with this hat and my girlfriend loves hers too! (yes, we bought 2)Bill

This is a stylish wide brim hat. The brim width is uniform all around at 2 5/8" (6.7cm). The brim holds its shape, due to a foam interior.I bought the biggest size, which is medium-large; the circumference of my head is 23 1/2" (59.7cm) which is equivalent to a 7 1/2 hat size. The hat was too tight for my head; so I cut off the size adjustment string, so that the hat stretches to its full potential to get an acceptable fit. The hat has shrunk slightly since I bought it and is somewhat wearable, but not comfortable. I don't recommend you buy this hat if your head is bigger than 22 3/8" (56.8cm; equivalent to 7 1/8 hat size).When i did wear it, I would tighten the wind lanyard around the back of my head (state trooper/drill instructor style), which kept the hat in place in windy conditions and looked better, in my opinion. The style of the hat is very similar to the Tilley T3, but at half the price. Although this hat by Sloggers is made in China, the rest of the gear that Sloggers manufactures and sells is made in the USA; so, buying Sloggers merchandise supports American workers.If you want the same style hat and your head is bigger than 22 3/8" (56.8cm) or you want a more custom fit, then go with a Tilley T3. The Tilley's are more expensive (made in Canada), but they have custom sizes, a warranty, and extra features. Otherwise, I would go with the Sloggers hat OR get them both!ProTip: When my hat came, the top was wrinkled; if you want your hat to look as good as it does in the mannequin photo, iron the top part. Hold the iron in one hand and run your other hand along the inside of the hat, little by little as you iron it, until its wrinkle free (use a towel or shirt between your hand and the inside of the hat while ironing, so you don't burn yourself). Also, I tested the hat in a pool, it floats. I held it underwater (at bottom of pool) for 5 minutes upside down, and it floated right back up. I repeated the test with the hat right side up and it made no difference, the hat still floated back up. This tells me that the foam in the brim is a closed cell foam. I am a bit disappointed that the hat is too tight, because I really like it.

This was ordered for my Husband but is unisex. I can't see many woman wearing it in this color at least or in the style. It is well made with thick sturdy material. The small logo on the side of it has a butterfly in it as if it was a girls hat. But it is small and not very noticable. It says one size fits most on the tag but inside it says large. It is a little tight on my husband so I am not sure if it is actually a large in Womans or if there is ever a size difference in womans and mens hats. But he likes it. I feel the price was worth it. The color was pretty spot on as the one in the pic. It has vent holes which is a plus for my husband with strong SPF rating. I didn't know hats had SPF ratings. Can UV rays actually go through hats without SPF? It sounds nice but not sure it matters.It's a great hat all around and I feel it will last for quite a while.

This hat is exactly what I was looking for in sun protection. I've had two types of skin cancer and the doctor recommended I wear a hat that would shield my face and ears from sun when working outside. This hat stays put and the cord helps if it is windy. The seams are sturdy and the hat seems very well made. The brim is just stiff enough to be shaped a bit but not too stiff.Please note that the hat size 'small to medium' should be considered 'small'. I have a small head and the hat fits just right with no wiggle room. If I purchased this again (and I would if I needed another one because the quality is very good) I would probably get a larger size and just adjust it down with the cord.

I’ve owned this hat since 2016 and I have used it on all our hiking and camping trips. I think it’s indestructible and will last a lifetime. The cotton quality is very good and the edge of the brim has some kind of a thin metallic bar to hold its shape. It’s moldeable, so you can shape it however you want. The brim is sandwiched in thin foam, and is therefore not flimsy and will also float in water.I wrote this review 6 years later because I washed my hat today and really appreciated having it.

it fits well and is comfortable to wear all day long. i got this hat during summertime and took it to wear to outdoor festivals and just when i knew i would be out in the sun for a while. the hat is very cute and made me feel like a cross somewhere between indiana jones and a gardening grandma :) both things in a good way. i like that it is squishy but that the brim stays in place up over the eyes, and i also like the vents in the side for maximum brain breathablilty. and the lanyard was fun, sometimes i put it under my chin but mostly i flipped it over my head and fit the loop around the top of the hat, which gave the brim a slightly U shape while snugging to my head so i didn't have to worry about wind blowing my hat off.

I love this hat. It is cool and keeps the sun off my face and neck. I have nothing bad to say about it.

I spend about 2 weeks searching for the perfect hat, and so glad I chose this one! I got a size large, not so much because I have a large head, but I have long hair that I tie up in a bun for most of the summer. It is a perfect fit (and I am a woman) The colour I do not consider to be a deep dark brown, more of a mocha which I find gives it more of a uni-sex look which is what I really wanted. The hat stays on my head and keeps it shape nicely. This is a great nice looking hat at a very reasonable price. Now everyone in my family wants one!
