## Overview

Devcon 50345 Metal Patch and Fill is a 3 oz. gray waterproof paste designed to repair broken, rusted, or corroded metal surfaces. It bonds strongly with a tensile strength of 125 PSI, resists oil, gasoline, and chemicals, and endures temperatures from 40°F to 400°F. Once cured, it can be drilled, sanded, and painted, making it a versatile and durable solution for automotive, marine, and industrial metal repairs.

## Description

Devcon Metal Patch and Fill repairs broken, rusted or corroded metal. Spread in a thin layer, this waterproof formula builds up worn surfaces and fixes gutter, grates, fencing, duct work, tanks, aluminum boats, etc. Resistant to oil, gasoline and most chemicals, this product is a flammable viscous paste with an aromatic solvent odor. Once fully cured, this product can be drilled, sanded or painted. Allow product to dry before sanding, and finish sanding and cleaning prior to priming or painting. A second coat can be applied after the first coat is completely dry. Not recommended for long term exposure to chemicals or solvents. Bonds all metals, glass, and ceramic with a tensile strength of 125 PSI. Temperature Range: 40°F to 400°F.

Review: Excellent product, easy to use holds up great under most conditions. - I use this for patching holes in my diesel’s charge air cooler. Some call it an inner cooler. Very hot air flow flowing through the aluminum cooler to cool it before it’s shoved into the engine. Cracks in the very heavy aluminum tanks. I filled them easily with this product and it held up to the heat and the pressure from the turbo charger. Excellent for that type of repair and holds up long enough to get a more permanent repair done. In actuality, I’ve had this crack which was about 18 inches long. Repaired with this product for the last four years. I’m not even gonna bother welding yet. This stuff works that good.
Review: Mix it up in the tube and use ventilation - Works great but before you puncture the tube to use it you need to massage the tube a little to mix up the contents, it seperates while sitting around. Also make sure you work in a well ventilated area, the fumes are strong! I will buy this again.

**Q: I have big rust holes where metal meets the door seal on my outside fridge. would this be good for that? Anyone recommend a Rust Reformer putty maybe?**
A: Doubtful, I have found that it is most useful filling small holes and other minor imperfections in metal applications. Hope this helpful.

**Q: will it fill in a 5 inch depression banged into a metal door.depth of depression 1/8 inch.**
A: I would give it a try, clean area of repair to bare metal. Layer it on, letting each layer harden. Sand it like bondo,in between layers.  Then repeat till smooth. Should work fine.

**Q: Would this work on holes in a pole barn then sanded and painted?**
A: Depends on the material your project is made of. Even if it is metal, you can use other epoxy fillers to fill holes. If you are NOT going to repaint after application and the material is metal, then YES, this is the epoxy you need. You should look for a hardening plastic or possibly wood filler, and sand after application, and then paint the area to match.

**Q: Is the finish smooth or rough? If used in a spring track, would the spring catch on it?**
A: its a bit rough so you need to sand it down but its a tough to sand down.
