Masterplug 4m 10 Gang 13A Surge Protected Tower Extension with 2 USB Charging Points, White

So many of the dodgy re-branded Chinese multiplug products on Amazon have terrible safety warnings in the reviews, I would only ever trust Masterplug products. I needed ten sockets and a cable longer than the standard 2m everything else seems to come with, and was very happy to find this Masterplug tower. A bit cheaper than places like Argos too! All working great.

i bought a cheap chinese extension strip and it sparked whenever I inserted a plug (and was just badly made all round), so I returned it and bought this one.Quality is great, sturdy. The floor stands are tricky to fit together (comes in two halves that need to be connected together around the extension strip) but I liked that as once it was in place it is very sturdy and won't fall apart.When I need another extension strip I'll get another one of these.

I replaced a flat socket with less plug options. This one is ideal! Has a longer cable and also 2 USB plugs but if you need to use flat may not be for you as double-sided (although the round tower base does split in half to stand 'long-wise' if the area you want it for is lower than the height of the tower)

With lots of fancy looking extension's on Amazon why choose the boring plain white 1? Because it's made by the people that have made good quality extension's for year's. All you have to do is look at the problems in the reviews of the cheap Chinese knock offs, I trust Masterplug and never had any burnout problems or surge issues.

The principle and main product design appears as I would expect according to the description but the base is of a very poor design. I could see what was meant to happen (2nd picture reflects) and that was for the lug on one side to slide into the channel on the other side (3rd pic). The problem is this was not possible - the two sides when attempted to join get stuck half way down. I tried so hard that the plastic broke off (1st picture) and when I then had to remove that triangle left in the channel (pic 4). I ended up jamming it into my thumb drawing blood. End result (pic 1) I can't join them but it will sort of the do the job, but it wasn't fit for design and now I have a broken base and a sore thumb!

The extension tower itself is chunky and feels like sturdy but of kit. I only gave 4 stars for the overall sturdiness because there are two circular pieces base made for the tower to form a base; 1. it wasn't very clear they were supposed to interlock, 2. they were quite difficult to fit together (I couldn't get it quite right!) 3. on a carpet the base doesn't seem particularly steady. Overall though it's a great but of kit with clear indications of power and surge functionality. It was perfect for what I needed as I am no longer tripping over plug cables!

After decorating our lads bedroom, we were a free-standing, space saving extension lead with USB sockets.We are happy with our purchase - you get what you see and its quite sturdy. Bonus too - it arrived earlier than expected. Not wanting to place doubt in peoples minds, I'm just very cautious when it comes to electrical devices and appliances, (especially in light of media coverage of some electrical appliances), so care must always be taken with whatever you buy. Fingers crossed everything will be ok; I'm sure this will be a safe device.

So far so good! Exactly what I needed for plugging in TV, sky box, Xbox, Google Home etc. Fits nicely behind tv unit, even with numerous wires the tower itself looks neat. 2 USB pots have come i useful for charging tablet and smart watch. Glad I purchased Masterplug as I've read they're a trusted brand and genuine. Definitely recommend this product.
