Peter Pan

I have several copies of Peter Pan, one of my favorite books, and was so happy to find this edition with Trina Schart Hyman's wonderful illustrations. If all you know is the Disney version, and/or one or more of the many movies and edited books for young children, you owe it to yourself to read the original book (after the play) by J.M. Barrie. Sometimes I suspect he wrote the story more for grown-ups than for children. "...the years came and went without bringing the careless boy; and when they met again Wendy was a married woman, and Peter was no more than a little dust in the box in which she had kept her toys. Wendy was grown up. You need not be sorry for her. She was one of the kind that likes to grow up. In the end she grew up of her own free will a day quicker than other girls."

This is a true classic which should be savored and enjoyed over and over again throughout your life. As to what person it's written in? Who cares really and nobody will ever agree on that.You could make a case that it's tol;d in first person but then what about the narrator?Who put that question in there anyway?Read the story, enjoy the book and let it go at that.

This may be on the top of one of my favorite children's book list! If you have seen the movie Finding Neverland, then you will know how J. M. Barrie came about with the idea to create my hero, Peter Pan. A must read for anyone....not just children. Barrie does a good job with making you love and hate Hook😆😊and no one can not like Peter...Except Hook and and his crew of course...A must read!!!!

The most beautiful pictures ever, and the story is just lovely.

Good to read a great classic. My children and I enjoyed reading it together. I had never actually read the book. Then my kids and I watched the two Disney versions of the story and had fun comparing the to the book.

Always ment to get around to reading "Peter Pan" and while I wish I'd done so sooner I did none the less thoroughly enjoy this quite much and plan to re-read it yet again sometime in the future ^.^

I loved the J.M. Barrie's writing in PETER PAN. I chose this edition because it has a corresponding narration, available at Audible.com, with WhisperSync. The story may not be politically correct (parents should probably read it first, before they give it to their children), but the writing is excellent, and of course the story is a classic. The narration by Jim Dale is spectacular.

I'm pretty ancient and had never read PP, so I did. It is such a good book, I loved it. I like Mr. Barrie's writing, his thoughts and his imagination. I felt a little sad in the end as Peter seems so lonely, but he made his choices right. Whatever you do don't watch the Disney cartoon movie of the book, bad, really really bad!

This is not the edition in the description- I bought this for my son as a present as he loves Peter Pan and feel as if I was mis sold. It is not a collectible edition and there are no illustrations. The writing is tiny and it is very disappointing. I will be returning it. I am a regular amazon customer and very disappointed by this. Only giving one star as no stars is not an option.

A great children's classic but also a story that can be enjoyed by adults. A magic story that can be shared in a bedtime story time.

A really easy to read good classic fantasy tale. I would recommend this book to any body. I like the cover too.
