Extension cords are not made the same
I'll admit, prior to this cord, I really was of the opinion that a cord is a cord. I gave this a pretty a good workout the weekend after I got it and it is really a game changer for me.First, the feel of the insulation is very soft and comfortable.Second, it doesn't kink at all, I doubt this thing even can kink.Third, i was pulling it around my lawnmower tire and it didn't get stuck! First cord I have ever had that didn't get stuck. I didn't pull it a really sharp angle, but at a low angle, it slipped right by the tire.Fourth, the female end is really easy to get plugs in and out. It was so easy at first that I was concerned that it wouldn't hold tight enough, but it didn't slip at all. I was flinging a circular saw and a router around saw horses and boards all day and never had the first slippage of the prongs out of the cord.Fifth, the ends look really sturdy and the clear plugs let you see the wires inside and they appear to be crimped very well.Highly recommended.

Spend the money on the U.S. made one so you don't burn down your house!
I went tot he local big box stores to see if they had comparable extension cords. Everything was made in China and they didn't have lighted tips. The lighted tip is important for me cause I'm using this to power my plug in coolant (Frostheater) on my diesel car. I can look outside (while I'm warm inside) and see if the electronic house timer has kicked on correctly and is warming up the car. It's bright enough to see during the day. Many cords have a barely visible outlet tip. The extension jacket is soft, even in this 36*F day! Very impressed and not worried about it like my old cheap one that would get warm...yikes!

The front says Made in America, the side says Made in China
I was trying to buy Made In America, because of the quality of Made in America products, thanks to our laws about electrical things. The Front of the package as seen on Amazon clearly said, "Made In America". But when it arrived, I noticed that the side of the packaging says "Made in China". Good Heavens!Notice what the tag on the cord says. (I've also seen this on light fixtures and garden hoses Made in China) The warnings usually say "Wash Hands After Handling", which does Not fill me with confidence about the quality of the product. In fact, this cord has lead in it, which causes brain damage in young children. Not a product I'd like around my home.

Excellent quality
Got this to plug my pickup in due to an old cord wearing out. I like that the end lights up and the cord is very sturdy. Was a little stiffer than expected, but to be fair, it was -25 Fahrenheit when I was using it. Still, it works well and rolls up nicely on one of those cheap plastic cord reels for stowing behind the seat.

No. 10 Cable Works For Me
Seems to be flexible enough to store coiled in a garbage can and, though heavy, seems easy enough to use for my outdoor electric blower. I have need for 300' feet of cable on a few occasions when I have to blow leaves from my driveway and other places in my yard. In the past I have used a combination of 200' of #12 and 100' of #14 for all jobs and have burned out the blower motors in about 3 years. Toro recommends no more than 150' of #12. I am planning to order another 100' of #10 and will use 2 sections of #10 and 1 section of #12 (because it is easier to handle) for the last 100' when I need all 300' but most of the time I will just use the needed length, usually 100'. I calculated the voltage drop at the end but I forget the exact details - believe it was about 7%, much better than the earlier #12 and #14 combination. I have noticed better power from the blower with the 100' feet of #10 than the 300' of the smaller cables, but I have not yet tried longer than 100' with the #10. There was no overheating of the #10 cable that I could tell. Again, I'll have to see what happens when I add another 100' of #10 and 100' of #12 - this will be temporary and maybe only a few hours a year. We'll see. Of course I'd like to get more than 3 years from my blower and fully expect the new cables with less voltage drop will help to lengthen the blower's life. Time will tell.

GREAT EXTENSION CORD
I ordered this on November 29, 2019 & it was delivered on December 3, 2019. A few days later I hooked it up to my battery tender/trickle charger for my travel van & it has worked well. I'm a satisfied customer.

Beefy cable
I bought two of these quite a few years ago at this point. I can't say that I have any real complaints. It's been used for a ton of different situations and I can't say that I have had any issues. It is built like a tank and should hold up to many years of use.

Rugged cord for continuous high amperage load
I got this to use with a 12A EVSE to charge an electric car. The EV manufacturer advised against extension cords, but I could not get my car physically close enough to an outlet to charge without an extension, so I looked for what appeared to be the burliest 12/3 25' cord I could find. When uncoiled, the cord did not get even warm, even with a continuous 12A draw over a period of 12+ hours. Lesser loads over shorter periods of time should be no problem at all. For something rather critical like a high current AC cord, I prefer to buy a cord made in the US or Canada over one made in China. This is one product I need to feel safe with. I'd buy another Southwire cord without hesitation.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT
Very satisfactory buying experience with Amazon, as usual: proper packaging, prompt delivery, product as described. I haven't used it yet, but it looks sturdy and well built. It's 12/3 gauge is exactly what I need to use with larger porwer tools in my yard.I recommend it.Update July 26, 2014: used the item on many occasions now, powering larger shop tools with no problem. Material is supple, connectors of good quality. Very satifactory overall. Definetely recommends.

purchase review
I recently purchased this extension cable from Amazon and was more than I had expected. The cable is made in the USA so local is always a good thing. It also has a flexible cord which makes it easy to work with and roll up. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a quality extension cord for any use, commercial or residential.
