Retinol Cream for Face 2.5% with Hyaluronic Acid & Vitamins E & B5, 1.7 fl. oz.

I rarely leave reviews, mostly because I'm lazy, but this cream needs its praises sung! Being a lazy individual, I rarely take care of my skin the way I should, I often forget sunscreen and almost never wash my makeup off before bed. Looking for a quick fix I purchased a fraxel laser peel with my dermatologist.. which made me skin look great.. for a few weeks. I quickly started to see sun spots even though I had been wearing sunscreen per my doctors post op recommendations and was not pleased with this at all. I purchased this cream to help with these unsightly spots as well as the fine lines around my eyes that Botox just doesn't affect. I wish I had just used this cream instead of spending almost $1000 on fraxel, the results are amazing, quick, painless and cheap! My skin tone is even and the texture is smooth! And to be honest I only put it on when I remember to, which is maybe a few nights a week. Get it.

This is a really nice product, I’ve been using it almost a month now in conjunction with Amara Beauty Advanced age-defying moisturizer and Aveeno Positively Radiant daily moisturizer spf 15. The Retinol cream feels rich and hydrating and I use it every night before bed. In the morning I wash my face with only warm water and a cloth and apply the Age-defying moisturizer followed by the Aveeno PR spf 15. My skin looks pretty fantastic! It’s smoother, very soft and seems more even all over. I’m pretty dang satisfied and the price is very reasonable, I will definitely continue to use all 3 products. I did break out the first week of using these products but then it cleared and all is glowing :)

I've been using this product for almost a month now. I do not use it everyday as I understood the provided directions stating that when the product increases sensitivity to the sun so it is best to apply every other day or so when first starting to use it. I purchased this product in hopes of decreasing the dark spots I have on my cheeks due to what I believe are hyperpigmentation scars from acne :( however I use another similar product (Vitamin C Serum for Face with Hyaluronic Acid, 20% C + E Professional Topical Facial Skin Care Helps Repair Sun Damage, Fade Age Spots, Dark Circles) so it's hard to pinpoint which is most effective. I believe that together, they've helped reduce my dark spots but after almost 30 days of use, I would have hoped for more of an improvement. I do not have any photos, but I still use coverup everyday to cover my dark spots although I did notice that the less serious, lighter spots have definitely improved. I suppose the really tragic, daaaark spots will need more time. Overall, I feel that this product is of high quality as it is very hydrating - the areas I apply it to are immediately refreshened although I feel that is almost leaves a layer of moisture that I'm not particularly comfortable with, kind of like when you have sunscreen on your face. Thus I only apply it at night right before I go to bed. Otherwise it would probably bother me all day. Fortunately, it does not have any apparent negative affects on my skin - no breakouts or patches - phew. It does increase sun sensitivity so sunscreen is definitely recommended, but sunscreen should be worn everyday regardless so I guess it's just another important reason to apply sunscreen daily. There is a mild scent that I do not find offensive or bothersome. The cream spreads easily and only requires a small amount to cover a lot of surface area, which is great. In addition to treating my acne scars, I feel as though my acne problem has also ceased - yay! But I'm still not sure if it's due to this product in particular or another one that I am using. All I know is that it didn't make my acne worse.

This is my first time using retinol. Im 41 and beginning to see lines and just a dullness to my skin. Ive been using this product for a couple of weeks. First week I used it every other night and now every night. I am starting to see a mild redness on my cheeks and chin. I also had two very small pimples that were dry in a day. Nothing that would make me feel like I need to cover my face up to go out in public about. I use the vitamin c serum in the morning that seems to calm my skin and I use pure aloe vera which is very cooling and soothing. Its too soon to see any major results but retinol is a pretty proven product and this cream appears to be very good quality so I have high hopes. The scent is light and the cream is easy to spread, with a pea size covering my face, neck and backs of hands. The seller is wonderful, great shipping and great follow up. Follow up...changed from 4 to 5 stars! I'm seeing some real changes in my skin! The fine lines around my lips are fading but the biggest difference is my neck. I cat get over the reduction in the lines on my neck!! I'm thrilled with this product and all amara products really. I use the wash, c serum, c cream in the morning and switch between the retinol serum and the retinol cream at night.

Ok, maybe I'm crazy here but I have super sensitive skin and I really worried this would break me out, as I tried an Olay retinol cream once and it really didn't work well, made my skin feel really greasy. I did have a couple of very small breakouts since I've been using this HOWEVER I have also been using a variety of different night moisturizers on top of this, so honestly I think it's that I'm either layering too many moisturizing items at night, or it could be the other things I'm using because I feel like I had noticed minor breakouts previously when using one or two of them. Basically, I need to be better about trying things individually. If you're wondering why I'm giving it 5 stars despite the minor breakouts and not being able to 100% say it isn't this cream (although I'm like 98% certain), it's because after I'd been using this for only a few days I was startled one morning looking into the mirror, trying to figure out what looked so different. My skin looked so clear and smooth, but I didn't think that was it. Then I realized, the very minor lines/wrinkles I'd noticed previously that were forming around my mouth (smile lines, as people call them) were completely gone. I had only been using this for a few days so I don't know if this stuff works that quickly or what's going on--all I know is, after I started using this regularly day and night, I suddenly realized those wrinkles were gone and I didn't remember them being gone before. I'm not saying this stuff is miracle cream that will remove ALL THE WRINKLES EVER on a person's face, because that probably isn't possible. But if you have the small starts of lines like I do, jeez louise it seemed like this cleared that right up. Funny thing is, I wasn't even using this cream for that reason, so that's why it totally surprised me. Also, after I purchased this, I got an email from the company giving me tips on how to use it and providing me contact information if I need it for any reason. I really, really appreciate companies that do that through Amazon, because it would be so easy to see us as faceless consumers on such a huge site. ALSO, when you get the actual cream, on the back on the directions it tells you how to use it but it also tells you that retinol increases sun sensitivity so you should use sunscreen daily. I am so thankful that they added that bit of info because I've had products now and then with retinol in it, and none of them have ever said a word about that. For me with my super sensitive and pale skin, that's really important information because I burn really quickly. I usually try to use sunscreen anyway but on weekends when I'm running out to walk my dog, I might have otherwise forgotten to throw on some sunscreen and might have run around with only the retinol cream on my face. Overall, I'm really impressed with the company, their thoughtfulness in both the directions and reaching out to the customers, and unless I'm going crazy, this stuff took away smile lines I didn't even think about having disappear. I'm definitely going to keep using it and see if the breakouts stop after I change up my other items or maybe don't go so overboard at night with multiple creams and with leftover stuff in my hair like sea spray or whatnot. (My skin is so sensitive that just using hairspray and having that fall on my face breaks me out, and if I get it on my pillow case at night and that gets on my face it breaks me out, etc, so that's why I'm pretty sure this cream is not at all involved in the minor breakouts recently because I'd been doing a lot of other things lately that I know do break me out). If I end up having some massive reaction or determine somehow this cream really is terrible for my skin I'll update this, but otherwise so far I'm really happy with it.

I have been using this product for over a year and it was great but I have to say, the company is being sheisty with the actual retinol ingredient now. The smell is different and the most noticeable thing is the color. It's lighter and the lathering isn't all there anymore. The price has noticeably doubled. Pushing for good products shouldn't jeopardize the need for the company to increase their prices. I remembered the retinol was included in the first eight ingredients. Not anymore. To decrease the actual product for profit gain???? So as of now, I will not be purchasing this item again.

I love this lotion which works much better than another brand I was using that cost 4x the price. This lotion goes on feeling rich and creamy but is quickly absorbed never leaving a greasy feel. I am a bit obsessed with this company because I truly every product I have tried and as a holistic Health Coach, I really appreciate that they use organic, safe ingredients and avoid parabens and other questionable ones. I also love that their products are chock full of ingredients whose effectiveness is backed by research that shows it to be effective. I know a face cream is not going to perform miracles, but I am a 54 year old AZ resident that has always had dryer skin, but since I started using Amara products my dry skin is gone and in its place I have smoother, softer skin that never flakes anymore. Their products all make my skin feel great, they smell fresh and never too strong and each one works and does what it claims to do. Bonus is the fact that their are very reasonably priced especially considering the ingredients used (which shows you how much unnecessary mark up is on other products with identical ingredients), and I love that the owners of this small company provide a personal touch with emails about how to use their products as well as fast and personal response to inquiries (which were just requests for additional products).

I just finished my second full bottle and there are no dramatic differences (the first 2 weeks only), BUT I didn't have any real issues per se, just dry skin patches and some mild marks from old breakouts. I use it PM only, after my C Serum, the followed by the Inisfree Green Tea Seed Sleeping Pack. In the morning I rinse my fave with rice water only, then use C- Serum followed by Obagi Exfoderm, eye cream and then Revision TruPhysical Intellishade sunblock. The little spots of dark skin under my eyes are still present, as are beginnings of fine lines. Both have not lessened in any way but my skin is more even toned and pores are clear and overall healthy. Overall I have a glow that, without my tinted sunblock, does not require blush. My skin just looks super healthy. It is a great moisturizer in the PM - soaks right in - and has zero scent. I will continue to use this. The texture of my skin feels great and I have had zero breakouts, so maybe it is helping there too?
