40 x 40 mm Waste Of Money - Too Inflexible And Difficult To Fit
Wasted many of these trying to fit them into 40 x 40 mm. aluminium tube without success. According to the specification size they should fit, but problem is that the plastic fins are too hard and inflexible. Tried chamfering inside the tube to give them a start but no luck, even cut off the first two fins to also give them a start, still no luck; tried heating to make the fins more flexible, no luck, and finally sprayed some silicon lubricant on - you guessed it - no luck. Excessive hammering to fit them just buckles the sides of the plastic cap. Had no problems using other makes, which make me suspect inferior flexibility with the fins being too thick.
