Is this a ready miso glaze or do I need to add mirin and sake?

It is a paste. A very thick paste. If you want a glaze you will have to add the same and mirin.

Is this product made in Japan or China?

It says on the label: Manufactured by Hikari Miso, Ltd., Nagano, Japan. PRODUCT OF JAPAN. It does not say China anywhere so should be Japan. It’s great for marinating and kind of sweet, not overly salty like the white miso. Hope this helps.
