Works great

My Pleco LOVES these. Before I had the smaller ones, but they didn't have them in stock anymore at the time I needed to order. These are HUGE, but he manages with them. I actually like them better now because the smaller ones would get pretty small and I'd find them under his aquarium wood where he wasn't getting at them; these say right out in plain sight.EDIT: My advise is not to buy these Giant blocks at this time. I ordered some over a year ago and received the mini blocks. My Pleco loved the mini blocks and they stood firm until he finished them. The order I now received are the Giant blocks. These cloud my water and though my large Pleco does love them, he eats them and leaves behind a lot of pink stringy potty mess that turns to a cloudy powder. Some of the powder sticks to the inside of my aquarium and the rest of it mixes with the water and it looks like the aquarium hasn't been cleaned in like forever.I clean my aquarium every week to 12 days, and I take real pride in how it looks. So I'm now only giving my Pleco one of these giant blocks the day before I clean the aquarium, that way the aquarium only looks disgusting and cloudy for one day.I have 2 large boxes of these, I'll keep one because I've used some out of it, and the other I'm going to try to return.I will order them again IF a product is sold that lives up to the description of what is being sold.I tried to return the second box. It's been too long and seller wouldn't accept the return. The box is going in the garbage.

My fish love it

My plecos and catfish literally love these. I feed them regular food every few days and keep one or two of the vacation feeders in the tank normally. My plecos are big enough they like to stick the whole feeder in their mouths

This is a killer value. The only downside is that because there's a bunch of them in a shipping box a lot of them got a bit beat up can portions broke off... but not the end of the world since I just grabbed the fragments and tossed them in with my turtles and they quickly scarfed them up. If you need a constant stream of calcium for your turtles this bundle is basically the best value I could find.

I recently ordered this item because we used these exact feeder blocks at a pet store that I worked at. By themselves THEY ARE WONDERFUL, but what was not visibly advertised is that each quantity of blocks is actually a different size. I thought that 1,000 medium blocks was a whale of a deal for what I was charged, but when they arrived I discovered that they were mini sized. Please confirm with this seller before you place your order.I have not contacted the seller about this complaint because I did not seek a refund. I am still using the mini blocks with both of my tanks. I was just expecting a larger size when I placed my order.

I was worried as I was leaving town and wasn’t sure how if my fish would eat them, so I did a trial run the week before. It lasted the full 3 days, didn’t cloud my tank or add extra residue, and the fish seemed to like them! Plopped one in, went away, had someone else plop another one in mid-trip, and when I came back, it was gone and my fish seemed well fed and happy. Will definitely purchase again!

I purchased this food for the first time because we would be away for a total of 5 days. My established and planted tank started with an estimated 30+ guppies of varying ages, some of which were adults that have been in that tank since day 1. I placed one block in a glass feeding dish to ensure I could just pull everything up on my return and not foul the water.When I returned from my trip, there were roughly 6-7 dead guppies. I immediately tested the water and everything was at baseline. I removed the feeding dish and did a 50% water change. That was 5 days ago and I am still losing guppies at a rate of about 2-3 per day. I can't say 100% it was the food, but I can say that the tank is well-established without any abnormal events in the weeks leading up and that the food was the only changed variable in the equation. Beware!

This product was great the fish loved it and easy to use! I will buy again when needed

Bought this for me fish while I was away at the cottage for 4 days...I come back and I'd guess 80-90% of the block is still there...did the fish touch it? Most likely they (4 in total in the tank) nipped at it. Did they like it? Apparently not...but they are alive so whatever they did get from it I guess they felt like they were forced to eat it. I have used food blocks previously and the fish ate them all up so not sure what the heck is in this one (chalk perhaps?!) but it didn't appeal to them. I wouldn't get this again, I'll probably get something from one of the big box stores next time. A 3 star for this product is VERY generous...at least the fish are still alive!

Good for summer vacations, one less thing to worry about as your fish are taken care of. Our fancy guppies will tolerate this but obviously prefer their regular food
