I have many different types of Champagne bottle plugs. None of them worked well and they all leak within a few minutes. This stopper will keep an open bottle last more than a day. I bought 4 of them and buying more as gifts to friends who enjoy Champagne as I do.

This is the best Champagne stopper ever!

The form of this stopper is unique when compared to its competition. It is impeccably finished, and easy to use. I have only tried it on a bottle used by one brand of champagne, but it worked brilliantly. I can only assume the bottles used by other brands are sufficiently similar that this stopper will latch on all of them. My only concern is with the hinge pins. They are drilled so close to the edge of the steel plate that I fear the metal will eventually fail. My worries may be unfounded, but only time will tell.

It fits only champagne bottles.

Love the design! It's a beautiful champagne stopper. My problem was that after using it a couple of times, one of the hinge pins fell out and it no longer works. It's an expensive stopper for it to fall apart after a couple of uses. Too bad!

Habe vieles ausprobiert. Vor vielen Jahren gab es von der Kupferberg-Sektkellerei in Mainz einen Drehverschluss zu kaufen, der auch sehr gut war. Ich hätte es wirklich nicht geglaubt, weil der Verschluss so auf Optik ausgelegt aussieht, aber durch die weiche Dichtung hält er wirklich super dicht, was für mich das Wichtigste bei einem Sektflaschen-"Verschluss" ist. Nach 1 Woche im Kühlschrank immer noch sichtlich/hörbar Druck auf der Flasche. Das Beste, was ich bisher - nach 5-6 anderen ausprobierten und gekauften Verschlüssen - gefunden habe. Optisch natürlich auch einmal "anders" und ganz interessant. Eine wirkliche Kaufempfehlung von einem Sekt/Champagner-Trinker! Ggf. kann es ein Problem geben, wenn der Flaschenhalswulst am Verschluss nicht exakt passt, aber bisher habe ich damit kein Problem gehabt.

Wein muss atmen - diese Regel gilt nicht unbedingt für jeden Wein! Gerade Frühburgunder ist sehr oxidationsempfindlich, auch Dornfelder, Grau- und Weißburgunder. Wenn man nicht unbedingt eine Flasche an einem Abend leert hilft dieser Vakuumpumpverschluss, den Wein geschmacklich für einige Tage zu retten. Man muss natürlich bei einer halbvollen Flasche ordentlich pumpen. Dann den Wein am besten im Kühlschrank aufbewahren. Früher sind uns viele Weine umgekippt. Jetzt kann man auch die Reste noch geniessen. Ich gebe zu: Notwendig ist so etwas besonders bei Weinen aus Deutschland. Je leichter der Wein, um so sinnvoller. Schwere Bordeaux-Weine oder Chiantis brauchen das nicht.Einfache Regel: Ein Wein, den man ohnehin nicht lange lagern sollte, profitiert von dieser Vakuumpumpe am ehesten.
