Great backing pads for log home work!
Very nice backing pads for use with grinding discs on log homes. The keep chatter down on the wheel, and are far lighter than the heavier black poly ones elsewhere. Great value for the money

Metabo 623283000 4-1/2-Inch Backing Pad
I have been custom woodworking (Heirloom Quality) for 30+ years, when I purchased a new 4 1/2" grinder to use as a sander I also wanted a very good backing pad- this Metabo is the ticket, if I'm using a quick material removing disk(36 grit) or polishing a curve with a face buffing disk- this backing pad does a wonderful job- use my 30+ years of mistakes, so you don't make the same ones- if you enjoy what you do, it's not work- it's stress relief , Thanks Amazon and all who take the time to review the products, good or bad

It’s METABO one of the best!
Really well made backing pad with a good locknut and holes to take off. This does make a difference in sanding and cleaning welds on handrails and other welding jobs. Angood flex to it and cleans like those cheap blenders but in a pad an a lot cheaper too.This one is built to work every day!

Fits DeWalt (must remove friction ring in some cases)
It's not very flexible at all and builds up heat in a minute or two on concrete but it' ok. Seems fairly sturdy but came slightly warped and tends to wobble a hair. Be sure to constantly check temp or buy a vented instead. (I regret not getting a vented one)

Passed the Bill Test
The pad passed the "Bill Test." The Bill Test is what my wife calls the process of me using tools. Buy quality and you only cry once.

I would make sure you know just how you want to use this packing pad before you buy it. The backing pads themselves are good quality. My application is probably a little harsher than most, so I wanted to share my experience to help inform other from my mistake. I picked some up to try in my machine shop and the first two chipped and broke within 2 days. These are not that great for heavy metal grinding, but will be fine for light-medium detail work. Again, really good pads, just not for industrial type jobs.
