## Overview

The Prism 100% Cotton Extra Thick Green Screen Backdrop is a premium 5x9 ft professional video backdrop made from sustainable, biodegradable organic cotton. Its 150gsm thickness surpasses industry standards, featuring a unique flocked side for superior light absorption and minimal bleed-through. Designed with a convenient rod pocket and crafted for durability, it offers a natural, eco-friendly alternative to polyester backdrops without compromising on performance.

## Description

Prism backdrops are 100% Virgin Cotton with a loose weave pattern using thick threads. As a Natural Cotton Product, Prism Backdrops are a Sustainable and Fully Biodegradable option compared to most backdrops made from Polyester.Polyester is used in most backdrops because it is less expensive and reduces wrinkles.Prism backdrops are also made from 150gsm cotton versus industry standard 120gsm cotton. The use of thicker cotton allows for one side of the backdrop to be Flocked creating a soft fuzzy texture.Flocking is a significant cost increase to the product and also increases the pilling affect when washing, but the Flocked side reflects very little light and can lead to deeper, richer colors in photography. We are unaware of any Polyester backdrops which offer a flocked side.

Review: Absolutely perfect, but Don't Forget About Lighting - This thing is huge! I used it sideways because I didn't need the ground/floor to be in the shot. It covered my entire living room wall, not that my living room is big or anything, but nonetheless it was much larger than I needed it to be. 20ft goes a long way. I included a video clip so you can see how the green screen worked out. If you want to see the entire video, search Youtube for Snap-On Light Saber Review. This was my first time using a green screen. I didn't bother buying any lights or stands for the screen. I tacked it directly to the wall, and used a lamp on one side, and a high power work light on the other side. The green screen itself is perfect (although the wrinkles presented a challenge, even after an hour in the drier, the wrinkles were super obvious). So it's not the green screen you choose that is so important. It's the lighting, and distance you are from the screen. This was a learning experience for me. For one, my lighting setup was not adequate, and not even. The work light I used was too bright, and the lamp was not bright enough. Plus with the changing sun light from outside, getting a good key was challenging, especially for my first time. I did a lot of test shots before committing to light positions. On top of that, I was too close to the green screen (about 3 feet). This might have been OK if I had a better light setup, but I did not. So several issues presented themselves. You could see a green cast around my fingers if I moved my hands to the side of my body. Also, the green light was reflecting on to things in my shot. Like anything shiny would turn greenish, and key out in editing. Differences in light across the screen means you have to choose a middle ground color of green to key out and adjust the threshold way out. That results in a lower quality key, that becomes obvious in certain parts. The only light I had on me was a ceiling light, and sun light from outside. On top of all that, my camera stopped working right before I stared this video, so I had to use a cell phone to record the whole thing. Anyway, all that working against me, I still managed to get a pretty decent key for a first timer. I use Adobe Premier, and it made the green screen keying pretty easy even though I made it harder by not having the proper lighting. So if you're deciding whether or not to buy this green screen...BUY IT! It's just a big green cloth (heavy duty like a thick curtain). The more important decisions should be on the type of lights you will need to pull the effect off. I learned a lot in just one video project. So this screen fit my budget perfectly, and since it was so cheap, I have money left over to look for an effective lighting solution for the next project.
Review: Great as a curtain behind front seats. AND for ditching your roller-shade cargo cover. - Upon the recommendation of a YouTuber living in a Prius, I bought this to use as a curtain behind my fronts seats, for car camping. Nice, heavy material, very black. Perfect for creating curtains, dividers, window covers, cargo covers, and in general creating stealth about what's in your vehicle. I made a curved (inverted U shape) curtain rod out of a 4-foot aluminum ruler, which fits into the curtain-rod pocket of this. I jam the ruler between the tops of the two seatbelt retractors. I drilled holes in the ruler to install stops to keep it from getting down into the seatbelt mechanism, and to adjust the tension just right. I used 3 thicknesses in the part where someone can see through 2 windows without it, 2 thicknesses below that. While folding it to do that, I also left some extra material above the rod pocket, to stuff between rod and headliner. It works perfectly! Just be sure to make it at least a foot wider than you think you need, to leave yourself room to Velcro it at a width wider than the rod, because the side of the car is wider than the rod near the roof. Having a bit of slack is good, for when stuff gets jammed against it when packing. Another great use, is to throw out your SUV/hatchback roller-shade type cover that always gets in the way of cargo. Just throw this over your cargo, and all that people will see from outside is blackness, aka nothing. Make it way bigger than you think you need, so you can fit it over stuff piled up to your roof, with the back seats flipped down to use a hatchback like a cargo van.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Suprising - give it a chance
*by A***R on December 29, 2008*

I ordered this 10x20 back drop along with another white one and a stand. There was a problem with the stand which originally took some time to sort through but they made it right. The stand and both backdrops arrived promptly. The backdrop was shipped in its own role rather than folded or requiring ironing or other fuss...a very nice touch! I was a bit hesitant at first especially in relation to the thickness of this muslin. While it IS muslin and NOT gauze like many of the super inexpensive versions being sold on Ebay or even here on Amazon, it isn't super thick so I was worried about opacity and unfiromity of coverage. For the price, I figured I'd have to make due and fix in Photoshop....happily that was NOT the case. The muslin performed well and looked very nice in the photos. The black came out a nice deep black and ditto for the white. Not grey, not yellow...black and white as each was supposed to be. The sizing is slightly smaller than 10x20 as mentioned in the item description but the muslin is of a decent enough quality it should wear well. Although originally hesitant and somewhat taken aback by the issue with the stand, this seller followed through and made everything "right". Nice price, nice seller, nice photos with this and the other white backdrop. Thanks!
