The best way to drive actionable change is through stories and this one does a great job at this.
My 5 year old and I liked reading the City of Stars, a storywritten in a conversational format between a child and his parents and these stories promote sustainable earth-friendly living in a way not many books do. For instance all the specific topics in here like noise pollution, light pollution, air pollution, saving fuel resources, eco-friendly celebrations, ozone layer depletion are the right mix of knowledge combined with actionable inputs that can well drive change and make a big difference to the environment and our health. Absolutely recommend having this on your bookshelf.

A great book for kids
There are 12 chapters in the book, chronicling his efforts through a year. Each chapter represents a month, and is a seperate topic in itself ranging from waste segregation to light pollution. My 4 yo loves following Abdu's adventures and journey of growth. The book presents some very tangible ways, children can help the environment- switching off lights, throwing a zero waste party, etc without dumbing down any concept. We especially love how Abdu notes every occasion he contributes to saving the planet by marking his calendar with a green triangle. The concept of how tiny, consistent actions over a long period of time are needed, and have power, is elicited beautifully. There are so many other subtle undercurrents of kindness, good family dynamics, gender equality, etc that makes this a very wholesome read.In short, a great book on saving the planet for kids.

Fabulous, never too early to start sustainable living
The city of stars by @litjoys is a lovely book that revolves around a little boy Abdu who wants clear star filled skies, and about the consistent steps he takes to achieve that. The book touches upon noise/air pollution, plastic and 12 such topics, but with a grassroots level view. Instead of presenting the problem at the highest level like melting icebergs or endangered animals, it's presented in everyday scenarios, enabling one to feel the problem closer at home, and thus the solutioning too..The hope is that through small interventions like this book, kannama can truly admire, embrace, stay in love & nurture the world we have. And through her, and with her, I can unlearn and relearn..Here's to leaving the world in a slightly better place for the coming generations! ❤️.

100% recommended
My son is 5 years old & He really enjoyed reading this book. It is very engaging & what I love about City of Stars is -1. It’s in a story format. So every chapter has a theme based on an environmental concern & my child gets to understand each topic in an easier way, rather than making it too complicated.2. I enjoyed this book too. I feel the book has a very different approach to reaching out to the audience. At no point it gets too boring or too overwhelming, because of the subject .Must buy for every family!
