Just got these
I just got these in and think they are very nice for the job I have a hand. I just need to tame the felt recoil of a few Lever action rifles, with metal capped stocks, these fit right on, are very soft and will not harm the wood, and have a jelled pilling that should improve shooting experience. Very nice material, well-constructed and very cost effective.

They do absorb some of the kick
While these can be difficult to put on, once you got them on, they fit perfectly and do what they're suppose to do. I recommend them for anyone who likes to shoot many rounds on the range. I have them on my 12 gauge, 45/70, and 300 Win Mag and they do absorb a lot of the kick for your more powerful rifles.

Turn it inside out to get it on
I have a 5 inch wide stock. This pad was very tight and tough to stretch over the stock. I am quite happy with the snug fit. I finally got it on by turning it completely inside out to get on. That worked with some pulling and tugging. I think the gel pad should do a good job reducing recoil.

A great limb saver for a rough Mosin!
This is honestly such a limb saver! I have a Mosin Nagant that is not very nice when it fires. The last few times I've fired it has caused me some bruising. I normally blow through about 30-40 rounds per range day so my shoulder gets worn down. Luckily, I found this and took my chances with it. A lot of people complain that these are hard to slip on but I've learned that simply slipping it on while it's inside out is the easiest method. The gel inside the fabric definitely makes it feel a lot smoother than those rubber ones I've seen. I can also happily say that it's actually made pretty well! All in all it's a very good limb saver. Works great for a Mosin Nagant if anyone was curious about this fitting on Mosins.

Tamed my mule of a shotgun...
I have a Winchester Model 1400 (semi auto 12 gauge) that is stock. It isn't anything fancy but it gets the job done. I am a bigger guy and didn't think this shotgun would be uncomfortable until I shot sporting clays for the first time. About halfway through the course I really started feeling how rough this shotgun is on your shoulder since it is a wood stock with no pad. The shotgun sat in a safe for years until I was invited to shoot a sporting clay fundraiser with a friend. I was really close to just buying a new O/U shotgun and giving up on the Winchester. Instead I decided to give it another chance and add a recoil pad to see if it would make this shotgun useable for sporting clays. This recoil pad went on fairly easily and stayed in place with no issues at all. More importantly, it made the Winchester a pleasure to shoot. Not only was I not bruised and beat up after the round, I was ready to go back around the course again. This recoil pad absolutely chewed up and spat out all of the recoil my shotgun offered. I would definitely purchase this item again (I have a lever action 30-30 that is a little aggressive that I may try this on).

Your shoulder will thank you
I put this on my bolt action 308 and this pad makes a big difference. I shoot a custom hand load with heavy bullets and while it shoots very consistently, the kick is pretty substantial. On top of that, I lost some weight (intentionally) over the last year which has made my shoulder much bonier. The unpadded buttstock would leave pretty good marks on my shoulder which I called "308 hickies".I put this recoil pad on my rifle and shot it today and was like, whoa this thing is actually pleasant to shoot now. No more 308 hickies. Was totally worth getting.

Tight fit, thick cushion.
The media could not be loaded. Good quality. It took 2 people to get it on because it needs to be a tight fit, but totally worth it. My stock was resin so we used a spoon as a shoe horn. That technique might scuff a woodstock.
