If your cat has skin disorders, diarrhoea or is prone to vomiting, then this food is highly recommended (useful too if recovering from surgery). The bottom line is that it is formulated to combat dietary sensitivity or intolerance. It's ideal for inflammatory bowel disease too. We have an elderly 'rescue' cat and she can be very sensitive to certain foods so we started feeding her this on the suggestion from a vet. It really does work and it's formulated to be highly appetizing to cats. Normally you would have to gradually introduce new feedstuffs to cats over the course of a week, but this is so gentle on their system that you can switch to it fully quite quickly without causing major problems. It is now her favourite food and she'll happily eat it exclusively but we like to provide some alternatives just to add some variety. In any event, if you only want to feed kitty with this it is ok because it is a 'complete' food, and it has decent levels of EPA/DHA omega-3 fatty acids. In case anyone is interested I lifted this from the Royal Canin site: - COMPOSITION: meat and animal derivatives (chicken 34%), cereals (rice 6%), oils and fats, minerals, derivatives of vegetable origin, various sugars. ADDITIVES (per kg): Nutritional additives: Vitamin D3: 370 IU, E1 (Iron): 7 mg, E2 (Iodine): 0.5 mg, E4 (Copper): 3 mg, E5 (Manganese): 2 mg, E6 (Zinc): 21 mg - Technological additives: Pentasodium triphosphate: 3 g, Calcium sulphate: 2.8 g, Cassia gum: 3 g. The reason this food is so easy for cats to digest is because it only uses certain proportions and types of protein and carbohydrates, in this case chicken and rice (and it has absolutely no lactose content). That drastically reduces the amount of allergens that can cause dietary problems. Cats love it, it's a complete food and it's hugely gentle on their digestive system. Well worth a go if your little friend is struggling a bit. ps - yes, Royal Canin (French company) were caught sponsoring Bear baiting contests in Ukraine in 2013 but claim they didn't fully appreciate what that entailed and they have now sorted it out.

Bought for a second time. My cats really like this dry food so worth every penny!

Very good. The Royal Canin Veterinary Cat Sensitivity Control 12x85g has been the answer to an issue with my cats digestion. The chicken and rice variety was recommended by my vet and has helped cure a blood in the stool problem and also my cat vomiting after eating. There is so much less waste as my cat will return to finish off any leftovers before they go off in the bowl and he eats enthusiastically. So glad to have found something that he will eat more of and cures IBS type issues. Worth the expense compared to other cat foods

Expensive compared to tinned cat food but unfortunately my cat needs the sensitivity feed. She loves it and clears her dish so it worth it for her

This is already an expensive cat food, and it is advertised as 100g pouches, so I thought “fine”. I could split one pouch into 2 portions and top up with biscuits. But no, it’s only 85g pouches.

Wegen einer Magen Darm Krankheit musste ich mit meinem Kater zum Tierarzt. Gastritis hat er sagte man mir und bekam eine Spritze. Dann hat man mir dieses Royal Canin Futter empfohlen und auch gleich aus seiner Praxis 4 Beutel zum probieren mitgegeben. Mein Kater ist was Futter betrifft etwas wählerisch. Er frisst keinen Fisch nur ganz selten und mit Huhn hat er überhaupt keine Probleme, das frisst er sehr gerne. Dieses Futter mundete ihm sehr gut das Tütchen war immer schnell geleert. Die Mischung aus Reis mit Huhn hat einen guten Geruch, wenn man die Beutel öffnet. Die Brecherei hat bei meinem Kater nachgelassen und auch der Darm beruhigte sich wieder. Da hat aber wohl die Cortison Spritze den größten Anteil daran zu Beginn. Ein gutes verträgliches Futter, welches man aber nicht unbedingt als ständiges Hauptnahrungsmittel verabreichen sollte, dafür ist es einfach auch zu teuer. Ich habe es nach 2 Monaten abgesetzt, weil er wieder richtig fit war. Zwischendurch bekommt er mal wieder einen Beutel Reis mit Huhn für seinen empfindlichen Magen. Empfehlenswertes schmackhaftes Tierfutter für Katzen mit empfindlichem Magen. Warum nur 3 Sterne, das ist der Preis.
