Highly recommend the full kit
This is fantastic! Exactly what I needed. I build a bar with two floating shelves. I wanted to embed LED lighting into each shelf and have no sign of wires. This kit was perfect! I drilled the holes for the shelf supports and then routed a channel for the LED strip, which sits in a metal diffuser casing (also from Amazon). I connected the routed channel to one of the holes I drilled and ran a low-voltage wire through the shelf support and into the channel. Came out great! Shelf now floats with LED lights and no signs of any support, wires, etc.Two things to be aware of…(1) the alignment of the four holes for the shelf supports is pretty precise. Def recommend the full kit so each hole is perfectly aligned. Even with this, I still had some difficulty getting the shelf on there and had to fiddle with it quite a bit.(2) the wood that I selected for the shelf only had a 1/4” clearance on the top and bottom, so I was not able to use a router to route out the back of the shelf. Instead, I used my table saw to cut side-by-side cuts until the whole width of the back was removed and only a 1/4” remained on top and bottom to hide the bracket.

We Did It!
I am the world’s worst measuring guy. But, using the guide was able to put the holes in myself with precision. Put up two shelves, 10 holes, and the bracket slid right on. The first one was perfect, the second needed about a minute or slightly more working it on. Actually after checking fit, it was more difficult to back the brackets out.We are in a 100+ year old house. Sometimes it seems the studs were set randomly. Additionally someone in the distant pas installed, very poorly, bead board. Surface barely an approximation of flat. In mounting the bracket we put a lot of screws, the beauty of the bracket since mt stud finder performed poorly on the bead board. Though we used a level, we ended up slightly bending on end down . . . just a little. The shelf would not go on, so we took out the screws on that end, pushed the bracket up about 1/16”, res-crewed, and the shelf slid right on.Since this was a pantry, and I was using a 2x10 I did not route the back of the wood.Would liked to have had a guide optimized for 2" dimensional lumber. The holes using the guide are off center just a bit, but OK.I purchased the recommended 7 1/2” 13/16” bit, but think the next longer size would be better.Dang, I went to take a picture and my wife is already loading the shelves up. I’d call that a success!

Works well
They work great and I'm able to secure these brackets into at least three studs in the wall. Used two brackets each to mount 2 12"x12' long oak shelves on the wall. With the weight of the shelves, I installed shine along the lower edge of the bracket so that they pointed slightly upwards to account for the slight drop along the front edge of the shelf. The only issue I had was drilling the holes in the wood stretcher I attached to the brackets to slide the floating shelf onto. I used the exact size drill bit but the hole was very snug. Ended up going with one size larger to make the installation of the shelf on the wall a little easier.

Great product and customer service
We've ordered brackets from this company on several occasions; they always are well made and available in the sizes that we need. I made a mistake in the return of a few brackets and the customer service was excellent in directing me what I should do.

Amazing experience with Sheppard Brackets! Could not recommend more highly.
These brackets are FANTASTIC. So well-designed, and the installation help, provided by the company, makes it pretty foolproof. Don't be afraid to try them, even if you aren't a pro. Mounted into studs (which is very easy to do) I think my wife and I could swing from these things!ALSO, I had a problem with my order - WHICH WAS ALL MY FAULT. I sent a message to Sheppard and in less than 24 hours, they got back to me saying, "We want to make it right - even though if was MY OWN FAULT. Not many companies out there like Sheppard.BTW, I built my own shelves out of 2x10, and my project came out beautifully. I'll try to post a few pictures later. THANKS, SHEPPARD BRACKETS!

Great product
I ordered two of these brackets in different sizes and purchased a build kit with one of the brackets. The brackets are sturdy and should hold the advertised weights with ease without any sagging. All of the components of the build kit are great value if you don’t already have something similar, and the router template really simplified the install. The custom drill template also makes it near impossible to misalign your holes.I was also very impressed with customer service. I ordered the wrong size for one of my brackets and customer service got back to me and shipped another bracket within a day.Highly recommend and will be using these brackets again for similar projects in the future.
