Very Useful
A capable little tool with lots of accessories. So far I've only had the opportunity to use it for two projects:1) Cutting staples out of wooden boxes. The staples were stuck, so I was cutting off the exposed ends of them. It wasn't as fast as an angle grinder, but got the job done quickly and with no hassle.2) Routing a 1/4" groove in some sort of soft-ish wood. I had to buy a separate bit for this, but did NOT buy an actual router guide - I just used the freehand tool that came in the package. It was easy to control but difficult to cut in a straight line, especially around knots. It was also less powerful than I would have liked, but that's sort of what you get with a high-speed / low-torque tool like this. Conclusion: it did two jobs that would have typically required two different tools whose prices would have added up to or surpassed the cost of this one. The Dremel 3000 may not be the most powerful tool out there, but it more than makes up for it in versatility and price.

Fantastic product
I needed a tool to grind down a piece of metal so that it would fit my project. I used it for about 10-12 hours and with just a few hours breaks in between, it did the job without power loss. I tried other types of rotary tools but this one was way better. This one was reasonably priced and ran like a champ. I would be purchasing more Dremel tools in the future.

Excellent quality rotary tool at a lower price than other Dremel's
From what I've seen and heard this may not be the best Dremel in their series but that doesn't really matter since the reason I got it was to save $30 in the time being. It feels solid and like it is made to dominate all materials. I was using the cutoff wheels to make precise cuts in 1/8" steel and it did so slowly but precisely. My only recommendation if you decide to get this for heavy use is to buy a package with more accessories because I've only been using it for like 2 hours and I'm already down a cutoff wheel and a half. Other than that if you plan on using it for lighter materials I'm confident it would be a fast and efficient tool to do so.

I love this thing. I can cut metal!
All I know is that the ability to saw through a nail with the cutting wheel is amazing. This opens up some doors of creativity! The speed switch is a little iffy at the lower speeds. Sometimes it comes on but sometimes it takes a push to level 2 b4 it'll even come on. Not sure if this is for all units or just mine. It's not a huge deal. You get a decent variety of attachments so I recommend this to anyone who wants to CUT METAL or grind metal. I even used this to grind down some cutting pliers so the face would be flush so I could use them to pull fretwire from guitar necks. This dremel tool is amazing.

It Even Comes With An Instruction Manual!
Have to admit, after reading all the negative reviews, I wasn’t sure about this Dremel. I was looking for something to build costumes that was relatively lightweight, easy to hold and that would work for a novice power tool user. I wasn’t interested in cutting my husband’s toenails or building a full scale model of the Effel Tower. All I needed was a tool that would drill, cut and sand. It does all that with ease. I’m really glad didn’t listen to the nay-sayers. I absolutely love the variable speeds and the ease with which tools can be changed. I had to purchase drill bits and extra colletes because the tool kit that comes standard with most Dremel is sparse. Once I obtained the tools I needed, I set to work and found out how wonderful this particular Dremel is for a cosplay princess like me! As I said, the tool kit needs to be supplemented but the most important item is included; the instruction manual. If you read it first, you shouldn’t have any problems operating the Dremel 3000.

Good as a tool for the garage...or for dog (claws) grooming...
I bought this to give my wife a CLEANER, NEWER option than my garage dremel for cutting our pup's claws. It does this job very well, way better than the underpowered and overpriced rotary tool options marketed specifically for trimming/grinding pet claws. It's not too noisy, so doesn't scare our pup, and it came with sufficient accessories and bits/sanders/etc for our purposes initially. As my wife isn't in the grooming business but is using this only to groom our own dogs' claws, I expect this will last a lifetime.
