I needed to rewire an antique standard lamp. It's now safe and looks like it did when new.

Used to put back to original on a barley twist standard lamp..as the bulb holder is brass, you need a 3 core to ground.I've never used fabric wrapped before I watched YouTube videos. I wasnt happy with fraying of the fabric, which is normal so I wrapped in electric tape.

This is exactly what I needed to rewire an oak table lamp that my father made around fifty years ago. It has a perfect vintage look, but it meets modern safety standards, as it has three cores, (line, neutral and earth), correctly colour coded.I'm so pleased with this that I have re-ordered, this time to rewire an oak standard lamp, again made by my father.If you order this cable, you will find that the ends are tightly wrapped in electrician's tape. There is good reason for this - the fabric covering frays immediately that the tape is removed.So before starting work, have some thin strips of electricians tape ready to bind the ends of each of the strands.

Renovation job to complete room, fitted in ceramic ceiling roses onto vintage lighting, looks perfect, will buy more.

Purchased a couple of metres to convert a hard wired wall light to plug in. The vintage style looks better when the wire is visible and great to be able to colour match to the wall. Seems good quality.
