A total waste of money. It's been more than 6 months since I've bought the cartridges, but only a few days ago I have tried to install them for the first time. The printer simply does not recognize them and refuses to accept them. I tried everything. Took the first yellow cartridge, did exactly per the instructions, pilled off the rubber strap, then when I saw it did not work I shook it, nothing helped. Then I played a bit with the chip, also re-strated the printer a few times, calibrated it - nothing helped. Same was with the 2nd yellow cartridge in the pack. So at least for J497DW - this seems to be inappropriate replacement.

Well, I have only replaced the black, but am disappointed in that the ink level does not register. Had I known that I would have never purchased this brand. How are you supposed to know when It runs out of ink? bad quality I guess. Sorry, that is not why you buy a high tech piece of equipment. There are chips on the ink cartridges of most replacements that are read by the printer. Evidently not on these.I must add that the seller has contacted me with a full refund. I have upped the rating to medium because of customer service. Thank you very much.

I did not get any error messages when it was installed and it prints exactly like the original. Hint- turn off automatic firmware updates to your printer so they can't change the code when they get wise to the fact that you are installing an aftermarket cartridge.

So disappointing!! Bought two sets of ink because the price was so great and I like to stock up. However, these cartridges just don’t work. I only tried the black bc I figured it was useless trying other colors when the black didn’t even work; I even tried two different black cartridges bc I figured maybe the first was just a dud. Nope. No luck. I definitely like the price but if they don’t work, the price doesn’t really matter. I’ll stick with name brand cartridges from now on to avoid the frustration.

I love the savings of this ink, however with my new printer while it will print with the ink, it won't recognize they are in the printer so I don't know when it is empty. Instead of ink levels I get an X. I have never had this issue before and I am very disappointed and will be looking for a new place to purchase ink in the future.*UPDATE* 8/30/2020I received an email from the seller and they offered me a refund or to ship me replacement ink. I opted for the replacement ink and it arrived only 2 days later. I have not had to change ink in my printer yet, but I wanted to come and update my review. I have been offered excellent customer service, and because of that I will continue to purchase my ink from this seller!!

I've gotten E-Z ink cartridges for several Brother inject printers. I selected them for low price but I also like them for their reliability. Print quality and performance has been excellent, except for the following. I've had a few rejects, defective cartridges that I had to toss out. These failures (5% or less) have been far fewer than I experienced before with generic replacement ink for my Brother printers. If not for those, I would rate 5 stars.

I just used my first one when my printer ran out of ink today. Popped it in, but my printer wouldn't recognize it. Cleaned the contacts on the chip, still NO LUCK. Put in the previous cartridge and the machine recognized it, but knew it was empty. Put this one back in. STILL didn't recognize it. Had to open a SECOND E-Z Ink cartridge and pop it in. The printer recognized that one. So far, 50% success rate. These are too expensive to only have a 50% success rate.

Don't expect it to last as long as the original equipment refills but it is close. It is still more economical since the amount you save in dollars is more than the amount of ink lost. If the printer doesn't recognize it immediately just take it out shake it for a second and put it back in.
