You get out what you put in.
Having actually seen the "Vasa" (Swedish spelling) in it's museum, (Well worth the visit if you are in Stockholm) and not finding one in the gift shop? I was pleased to find this Airfix "Vintage Classic" kit. It clearly states on the box, "Mold tools made in 1971", so anyone who has made an Airfix ship kit from this era will know what to expect. However unlike the HMS Victory kit I built in the early 70's, you will have to make up the rigging ropes yourself. But a frame is provided for doing this, so patience will be required. All the parts in the kit are well formed, and comprehensive plans are included. This kit is going into my "retirement stash" so I have not built it yet, but I'm looking forward to the build.

Has the ability to be good
Arrived on time, no damage but has Amazons classic waste of cardboard boxes, far to big for what it is. The cost, although not too expensive, is perhaps amplified in the pressing quality. Plus the myriad of loose and un-numbered parts in the polythene bag. I have given 3 stars for this reason. I have not yet started the build because I missed the review advising that I buy glue because none is supplied. The amount of over pressing plastic waste, on practically every part is shocking and needs careful removal with a sharp craft blade, I expected some but not this amount. I’m only hoping that I can work out where all the tiny parts loose in the bag fit, otherwise I am going to be a little upset.Maybe I’ll edit this review to more stars once the project is complete, it depends on how much searching and working out the loose pieces will be.

Good challenging kit
The kit was supplied by World Wide Shopping Mall ltd and initially arrived with an error in the supplied parts but this was quickly rectified by the supplier without any hassle. The kit has some very small parts so construction and painting should not be hurried (just the job for the long winter evenings). The painting of small parts is certainly the most difficult but persistent efforts will be rewarded. Some trimming of the moulded parts is required but this is all part of the build. There are lots of photographs of the real ship online which helps in the build and painting colours.Overall an excellent kit.

Poor Model
Another old, poor model enclosed in a new box. Advertised as produced in 2023, but that is the box!! The contents are much older and are of a decades old quality. In my opinion a deception I, and should not be allowed.

Great western
It's an old kit but can make a nice model with a bit of patience and time, not to much flash..

it's a pretty good kit for the money
first off I'm suppose to review Cutty Sark but I did't order Cutty Sark , I ordered the Wasa and that is what I got and on time . the kit itself is pretty good but could use more detail of what colour to paint , other then that I'm satisfied with what I got

Good model
Item arrived in good shape. All parts were in decent shape. the boat deck was slightly warped, but this is a common tale with this particular airfix model. Not so much that I couldn't coax it back into shape when gluing the deck onto the hull. The smaller holes had quite a bit of flash, as did a lot of smaller parts. In fact, most parts needed a bit of shaving. You will definitely spend some time with an exacto blade, cleaning up some edges. A few other mating surfaces weren't exact, but not bad. I small manufacture defect in the plastic molding process of the hull, again, paint will hide this. Would be nice if they visited the Tamiya factory for lessons on plastic injection molding. The instructions can be a touch difficult to follow, make sure you read them carefully and pay attention to the specific orientation of parts. overall, a nice model that is well thought out on a midsize ship build. I'd buy it again.

Excelente, teniendo en cuenta que es un molde de hace 60 años

My first model!
Some parts are flimsy so watch out rigging. Overall, for the money, I think it turned out quite well.
