When I purchased my home this exact Stanley Garden BDS6620 65-ft Automatic Hose Reel unit was attached to the wall in my back yard!I recently had contractors use the existing unit and broke it unintentionally.I found this same unit online through Amazon and replaced it with a new exact hose reel unit.I do love the ease of using this type garden hose unit.It also does not look like an eye sore on my back porch.You can swing it from left to right depending on where you will be using the hose.I recommend this unit to anyone who is tired of using a water hose with a manual hose reel.

So far I love it. I will continue to love it if it works well in the long run. The one drawback is the bolts that came with the hose reel were for mounting to a board that is to be mounted to your siding. I already have a large block of wood so I needed to get some large wood screws. No size was specified in the package instructions and I tried to contact both Stanley and the manufacturer. The response from the manufacturer was too late and only reiterated the instruction. It did not answer my question.

I have a lot of potted plants i have to water frequently. This is wonderful, it makes it so much easier. I’ve been using this brand for 6 years, one at the house and one at the back of the yard. I had to replace one after 6 years it stopped rewinding, but i guess after being in the sun so long and being used every other day it was worn out. Still would recommend. The mounting swivels and must be attached to something sturdy.

This is my third Stanley retractable hose reel. I have a very bad back. The hose reel allows me to water parts of my yard and it rolls up efficiently so I can use it even with my limited motion.Thank you Stanley, you make an excellent product.

I wanted to love this item...I had been wanting one for a long time, but didn't trust that it would be as good as it appears. I had been looking at items similar to this one for a few months and decided to finally buy one. I was quite excited when it got delivered. It was purchased off of Amazon marketplace, but had not been used. I was nervous about attaching it to my house so I installed it to a wood post that I cemented in the ground. The directions for using the bolts that came with it were not detailed enough for me. It did not contain the drill bit size so I had to do my best to guess. I try to be a do-it-yourself kind of person, but I need directions. Regardless...I eventually got it installed and was super excited! The day of winding up my hose by hand seemed to be behind me!!! On my first retraction of the hose there was a big smile on my face....then I tugged and let it retract back. It went zipping back to the reel and hit the plastic casing and immediately cracked it!!! I was stunned! It is still usable, but I couldn't believe it broke that easily. Knowing what I know now, I probably should not have let it retract without me holding on to it, but I didn't know. I will certainly do that in the future. The system is still usable, but I believe the plastic should be a bit more durable. If you have children, I guarantee you they will let it retract independent of themselves and it will likely hit the plastic covering and crack. BE CAREFUL! Other than the skimpy directions and very thin rell plastic covering, it works well. I have warned my children about proper use so this does not happen again. To be honest....it was such a deflating experience after feeling so excited about the product. Because I live with children who actively play outside with their friends and use the hose to play with water, I would not recommend this to others in similar circumstances. It is not durable enough for regular use in a household.

This is my second one, the first one was so good we put another one in the front yard (the first is about three years old). It has fantastic rewind. Because of the powerful spring, it does take a little muscle to get the hose out though.

This is the second Stanley Auto Hose that I've installed at my home. They are great !!!. I've yet to have a problem with the reel. Sometimes it reels in a little slow, but that is perfectly acceptable. It's nice not to have to deal with the hoses tangled all over the yards. Amazon was the only outlet I could find that had this product available. Great Job Stanley !!!! Great Job Amazon !!!
