Great but be aware if it is your first time using it
I love this dye be aware that it does contain a sort of bleach agent inside of it to allow it to deposit color into dark hair. Although people say there is no bleach there is but there isn’t any additional bleaching required since it is included in the dye it makes it a less damaging option. Also if you hair is as dark as mines it might take more then one attempt to lift your hair it took me two times to get my final color but I spaced out the dying time by a month to avoid damage. Both attempts were done with the 30 developer twice. I recommend mixing it with a red protein filler to stop your hair from bleeding as much as well as brightening the color a little. Also instead of using the same dye for refreshing it is best to use a semi permanent to refresh the color to avoid using more bleach on colored hair only used this when doing roots and lighting existing hair

Will purchase again
I've been coloring my own hair for nearly 40 years. I've tried different brands and different methods. Recently, I tried L'Oreal HiColor HiLights in Magenta (for dark hair) with 30 Developer. I also added a protein filler with this dye to help the color distribute evenly. I began at the ends of my hair first, then worked up to the roots. I applied color to my roots during the last 10-15 minutes of processing. Then, I washed the color out til water ran clear. I applied a rich conditioner because I felt like my hair needed it. It was super easy. (Many tutorials online explain how to do this process.) My hair was a deep, very dark burgundy to start with, and this process lightened my hair almost two shades. I probably could have let the dye remain a little longer on my hair, but I didn't want to go too light with it. I will use this again! I feel like my hair turned out vibrant - but not like a crazy clown red. (The protein filler in "red red" probably helped tone down the color just a bit, which is what I wanted.) My hair is super long and thick, and I two tubes was the right amount for my hair. Hope this review helps somebody else who might be on the fence about trying it out.

Magenta is a beautiful color
I looked up several videos on dying my hair a brighter red than what I'm used to. I have been using the box dyes for abt 3 yrs and didn't want to have to use actual bleach and damage my hair. I found several postive reviews on the magenta hicolor hilights & decided I'd try it out, I chose magenta over red bc I wanted a pink undertone instead of an orange which is the color most red hair dyes lea've. I have very long & thick hair so I actually had to color it twice, I ended up using 4 tubes of the magenta in total between the two dyes, I left it in my hair for an hour the first time then washed it out using only conditioner. I waited until the next day to dye my hair the second time following the same process and I left it in another hour. I used up almost all the developer so I do plan to purchase this bundle again. To keep the color I wash my hair abt twice a week, try to use shampoo/conditioners w/o sulfate and you can mix your conditioner with semi permanent red hair dye to help keep the color. I'm no hairstylist but if I could dye my hair using these products I'm more than sure anyone can. Hope this helps anyone wanting to dye their hair this color.

Buy it! It’s totally worth it!!!
Kathy’s Daughter: First two photos are of me before I dyed my hair. The last three are the day after I dyed it. I used a tube and half with one part color to two parts developer. I also added a small amount of white conditioner to the mix. Painted from the bottom up to get rid of all the brown I had in the underneath of my hair and worked my way up so I wouldn’t get hot roots. I used the rest of the dye and slathered it on my hair to make it really nice and wet with dye. I put a bag on my head then left it on for 60 minutes. The last 15 minutes I turned the blow dryer on in the bathroom and kept it blowing at my head. I only used this once. Now I need to find a semi permanent that matches it. If this brand had some for this color I would buy it in a heartbeat! I need it to put in my conditioner to maintain the color. I hope I can find a semi permanent dye that works for me with this color. I LOVE this dye!!! And nope! Didn’t have to bleach it first!

Good but be careful
Beautiful color!! However, CAUTION: if your hair has grown out a bit from your last hair dye, be cautious of “hot roots” (or the hair dye absorbing more into your roots than the rest of your hair). The top of my head is bright while the rest is a dark red! However, this is probably my fault rather than the dyes since I did not know that could happen. Also, it would be nice if this set came with instructions!

This is great BUT there are some things you should know first
I love it!!! A few things you should know before you buy it, I used this on my hair that had been previously colored fuschia (ion brights permanent), it was faded (that orangey pink color reds and purples fade too) I was nervous using this on previously colored hair but it came out beautiful. It does come out on the more red side so if you're expecting purple undertones then don't use it or maybe mix it with a fuschia or violet. I like that the color pops even without good lighting so for me that makes this so worth it. When you're mixing this it is really clumpy, I recommend mixing it in a plastic (not metal) bowl and letting it sit for 15 minutes before apply it. I noticed when I let it sit the clumps mixed in fine. Overall this is definitely a good bundle and I'd definitely buy it again.

Bold Color for dark hair with no bleach
First time doing crazy colors for hair. I watched a million youtubers before buying. I didn't want to bleach my hair but wanted bold color and WOW did this give it to me! I left it on 50 min and did not have to do it a second time like most did with 30 min. My hair is so soft and the color is dimensional. I did make the mistake of starting at the roots (don't) who knew what hotspots meant? Not me! I only used 1 box so I have the other for touch ups. Love this brand!

Actually works on dark hair
I love this product for my already coloured, dark brown hair. I’ve used box dyes for years but am so happy I’ve discovered this more professional product for reds!I tried intense red first but it didn’t go as bright as I hoped so the next time I used magenta and I was much happier with the results :) definitely only use on dark hair!!One photo is before the other (super red one) is after.

The color is nice
The color is perfectA little tip if you have virgin hair don’t leave the coloration too long on the roots because you’re going to have hot roots I’d suggest max 5-10 minutes on the roots
