Quiet and builds pressure fast
Tried a few others like this but send them back. This builds up pressure quicker. Does take a while to fill a 90lb truck tire up but not that bad. Think you could spray with this. Not loud, could use in the house. Works in cold weather where my big compressure one blew breakers even with syn oil. Portable and not heavy. Big plus in rv or lifting up to truck bed. I take in the house and warm it up at 10 degrees to 10 below. Try that with a heavy compressure. Used a lot and no problems. Surprised at the excellent build quality for the price.

LOUD!!! and LOUD!! 20 db louder than advertised.
the ONLY reason I've bought it because it says,in its description:"quiet....75 db". NO!! It is very loud, measures 95 db. A huge difference.I am VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Nice compressor, but louder than advertised
I was in the market for a small compressor, initially to run an 18 gauge brad nailer for installing baseboards, but also for future use for cleaning, tire fills and running other air tools I may acquire. I narrowed it down to the Grip-Rite, the 1-gallon Senco and the Makita MAC700.I was hesitant about the Grip-Rite since there were very few reviews, while the Senco and Makita had many positive reviews. However, the 0.7 CFM output of the Senco mostly limits it to running small nailers or airbrushes, while the Grip-Rite touts a 2.6 CFM output. The MAC700 is likely better built and engineered and only $30 more, but I was put off by its 52 lb weight compared to 39 lbs for the Grip-Rite. For occasional light home use, I didn't want to deal with a heavy, oil-lubed compressor. The Grip-Rite arrived undamaged in the manufacturers box. It's compact and smaller than I expected. The sticker says its made in Taiwan, which is a nice surprise as I expected it be Chinese-made.The instruction manual is simple and clear and includes a detailed parts list. The manual and parts list are also available on their website. As another reviewer mentioned, there is some swarf loose in the tanks. It could probably be removed by removing the drain valves and using a rare earth magnet taped to a dowel. Not sure it's worth the effort though.I would certainly not call the unit "extremely quiet" as the marketing blurb does. While it's quieter than my brothers pancake compressor, someone sleeping in the next room probably wouldn't appreciate hearing it. In a detached home with the windows closed, your neighbors likely wouldn't hear it, but in a condo with thin walls, they probably will.On the plus side, the run times to fill and recover are quite fast. I didn't measure them, but they seem in line with what Grip-Rite claims (50 and 10 seconds IIRC?).Overall, it seems like a good unit. Time will tell how it holds up.

Looks like a Quality Compressor, but.......
The Compressor itself is a quality product. However, the way they are shipped is very poor. They are shipped in a retail store display box, which offers no protection to the product itself. There is no packing/foam inside box to protect it from shipping damage. The first one I received, the feet were broken/bent on the bottom. I contacted Amazon and they sent me out a replacement one the next day. The replacement one had the same issue broken feet on the bottom, so I returned this one as well. I finally ended up ordering it from the "Blue Big Box" store, it took a week to get, had it shipped to the store, No damage. A Great lightweight, easy to carry compressor, if you can get one with no damage.f

Great for the DIYer!
Great compressor for the DIY homeowner! Easy to use, works great - I reshingled my whole (20-square) roof with this and the Ramsond CRN-45 nailer. Very portable with enough power to run just about anything the DIY homeowner needs. Fairly quiet for a compressor, and low-maintenance as it's oil-free. I also use it all the time to top off our car tires (as we live 20 miles from the nearest gas station.)

Just right!
I use this compressor for light use at work a few times a month, mainly for blowing out parts and some brad nailing. Its light enough to easily carry to the job site, it pumps up quickly and is quiet compared to other compressors I've had. It feels sturdy, and I've had no problems with parts breaking, or breaking off. It has a low center of gravity and never rolls around in the truck no matter how hard I drive. The parts tray is convenient and the only thing I would add would be a place to store a small hose. The packaging is poor, but I received mine in good condition. This would be a perfect compressor for home use too!

work compressor
Great compressor. I use it at work doing trim work and this can handle 3 lines with 18 gauge nailers no problem and handles moderate use of 2 16 gauge nailers. Fast recovery and easy to transport if you can carry 40 pounds easily. The plastic housing of the motor has a poor design and creates a lot more noise than the motor itself because it vibrates but that can easily be fixed by securing a piece of rubber, flex tubing or something similar between the tray on top and the plastic housing. Overall great price for a great compressor

Junk.
This compressor cycles constantly. It fills up, sets off the release, loses pressure, starts again, fills up, sets off the release, loses pressure, starts again, etc, etc, etc. Doesn't matter where you set the adjustments on the pressure control. I sent Grip Rite an e-mail and got no response. POS.
