The media could not be loaded. I have edited this initial response after later reading it myself. The content hasn't been changed, I just need to read what I write before clicking the save/send button. :)Orb-3 Lake and Pond Enzymes work great. I simply followed the directions and spayed it over my 1/4 acre man made pond. This pond has a very heavy sludge build up of over 30 years and one month later the green water has gotten substantially more clear. I can now see to a depth of maybe 3-4 feet, when in the beginning it was only about a foot, this all happened last year. No I can't see any dirt or gravel on the bottom as stated in other reviews but I didn't expect to. Other products didn't even come close to this type of performance and I have spent a lot of money and time in the learning process. Still a long way to go as many-many years of neglect take its toll, so I will just be patient and continue the treatments for the years to come, Its well worth it after seeing the changes that have taken place.. See attached pictures of the changes over two years. No the enzymes don't remove the cattails humans do and it takes a pond razor and a lot OF effort. I suggest taking your time and doing it a small section at a time and being in good physical condition.

Works like a charm on surface algae
My situation is an old 36,000 gallon swimming pool that has been left unfiltered and uncared for as a pond.I've got goldfish unit in a few plants. What happens with this kind of thing is that it immediately turns a P soup green color. That's OK with me as it still looks cool but I was getting a terrible problem with stringy algae growing on the Pond/pool surface. I tried several things number one being the stuff that is supposed to rock the sludge at the bottom of the pond and increase water clarity. These products work but they were very expensive. I thought I'd give this a try and BANG, IT WORKS LIKE A CHARM. The pond is Still green but it's great to not have to deal with the algae on the surface. I would buy this again.

Think this product has worked well for me. I have a "natural" pond, and murky water has been a problem. I cannot see my fish. This product has cleared the sides of the pond and the top few inches in the middle of the pond. It is better than what I had hoped and much better than anything else that I have tried. A little goes a long way. Safe for fish, frogs and plants. A good product for those who do not want or believe in the pump, filter, uv light applications. A strong supply of air in the water is a must.

If the manufacturer gave some detailed information on how to use this stuff and what to expect it could be a 5 star???
It seems to be helping but some more information/instructions sure would be helpful. After reading another review I tried 1 quart, diluted and dispersed throughout my pond. My pond has different depths so its hard to estimate how many gallons it is, but I think its between 10,000 and 13,000 gallons. As per the other review I was expecting the organic stuff to float to the top where I would skim it off, so I had shut off my filtering pump but I left on my aerator. It foamed a little but nothing floating. I waited over 2 weeks to turn on my filter again. The water did seem somewhat cleaner on the top foot or so. I waited about 6 weeks and I repeated with 1.5 quarts and I left the pump running on a timer as usual. It get filtered about 4 hours a day. This time it foamed up quite a lot. I think my pond must be more like 13,000 gal. It does seem to be helping, the water is getting clearer. I would buy this again. It seems to be a trial and error process. I'd love to hear how it works for other ppl. It could maybe be a 5 star and I just haven't figured out what works best.

Made it Worse...!
I have a 1/2 acre pond and have been using barley straw for the pqst few years with moderate success--not perfect, but decent water clarity, if not eradication of the algae. So this year I decided to try this ... wow. Not a fan! I went from a healthy pond--full of life, if ugly with murky water--to a smelly, oily surfaced dark pond where I wasn't sure if any of my hundreds of tadpoles were still living. After 5 weeks and going back to my barley straw, I can see at least that the tads are alive, and the smell is dissipating and the oily surface is thinning. I will lnot use this again.

Killed half of my fish!
I put this stuff in my pond and it killed half of my fish. I had some big fish and about 100 fish and it killed a chunk of them. This is not safe for fish or it wouldn't have killed any of them. On the bottle it says non-toxic or non-hazardous. It says its safe for fish and plants. I guess it you use too much which I didn't think I did then it can kill the fish but it should say something about that if you use more than recommened than it can be harmful to fish. It says it was completely safe for fish so I trusted it and I guess I was wrong. Like I said its not like a dumped the whole bottle in their pond. I put a pint of it in. I have a foot and a half deep pond that is 12 feet long and 8 feet wide. I expected this stuff to maybe not work and clear the water but not to kill my fish.Update on this stuff. This stuff did kill several fish. It doesn't give you an amount to pour in with a small fish pond. I guess I put a little too much in the pond. I put about 2-3 cups of this stuff in the pond and evidently that was too much. I wish they had directions for fish ponds but they don't. They need to put safe for fish and plants unless you use too much. Anyways the instructions were not clear as to how much to use for smaller ponds.

Concurrent with adding a pond pump, I began using these enzymes to try and get rid of some of the silt that has accumulated. I have done my first dose and have another week before the second. I'm not sure if it's the enzymes, or the pond pump, or both, but the pond is clearer and the fish are definitely more active. I'm excited to finish off the season and will update at the end of this 5 gallon container.
