Perfectly Flat!
Atoma diamond plates are by far the superior brand I purchased this predominantly for flattening my water stones which it does excellent at. Unlike all other diamond Stones I've purchased, it came perfectly flat! It feels very smooth and the feedback is excellent. I cannot recommend this enough if you're looking for a flattening plate or a diamond plate for sharpening Atoma should be your number one choice!

Perfect diamond stones.
While 400 isn't quite as aggressive as the regular 320 grit you're probably used to, it's still aggressive enough to completely reprofile an edge in short order. If this isn't enough then Atoma has a 120 grit stone, which I ordered, but I'm second guessing if I'll actually use it now. The 400 takes a little more time, but you're less likely to make a mistake that damages your blade and costs you valuable edge material. Anyways, that's more about sharpening and less about the product itself. These diamond stones are the best I've used. Everything else feels like a toy, and these feel like craftsman tools. They're a little more expensive, but they're worth the cost.

Best Diamond plates
Atoma is the only Diamond plates I will use, I use them for knives and straight razors when stone is not enough. Long lasting and dead flat.

it's good
if you looking for a really perfect sharp sharp this probably not for you since the diamonds like sprinkled on them and some come loose but for a kitchen sharpener and occasional use have no issues with it- i do have astoma set not used yet cause this stone does the sharp i need i brush up after with a reg stone but gets things sharp enough for easy slicing- and can get blade sharp enough go through paper i satisfied and may be very long time before i need the atomas- the 400 in time not long act more like a 5-600 stone-

Very even Diamond distribution
Plate is lighter than the usual steel plates as its aluminum. To test and wear in the plate I ran a Block plane blade followed by polishing a 1" Chisel blade over the plate. Both completed with a very even scratch pattern that I was was able to polish out easily using a whetstone which is not the case with the budget Diamond plate I had used previously. I haven't used a DMT plate to compare it to however I am very happy with the speed and feel of the plate. I am waiting for the 1200 grit blade to arrive to make this a double sided plate. The expected use of this plate will be the initial grind on Chisels and Plane blades together with flattening Shapton glass whetstones. I have flattened one whetstone so far and it accomplished this without issue except for how well the whetstone stuck to the plate.
