I am THRILLED with this; getting another
(Caveat: I am writing this just about 5 hours after getting this and plugging it in.)I live in an extremely humid climate and in the summer, it's almost unbearable. Whenever the temp goes above 70 degrees, it feels muggy and uncomfortable. I run my AC but it doesn't seem to do much unless I am sitting near it. I was doing an online search to see if there was a reason for this and ran across a suggestion about lowering the humidity. Maybe I'm stupid but I never thought of this. I moved here from Alaska and never even HAD or needed airconditioning.I started searching for a dehumidifier that was affordable, had good reviews, and would cover enough space. I chose this one because it ticked all the boxes but I was taking a chance & planned to return it after a few days if it didn't help. Well...This thing is freaking amazing and if it keeps working the way it did for the first 3 hours, I will be buying one for the kitchen and a smaller one for the bathroom. Spending around $100 to $150 once is not bad when it saves me money on my utilities every month. Also, I understand that dehumidifying helps keep the air cleaner. That makes sense because of mold and spores from dampness.I just wasn't sure what size dehumidifier I needed for my home. I have a bedroom that is "large" for an apartment; a small living room, a medium-size bathroom, and a tiny kitchen. The living room, entry, and kitchen are an open floor plan. I was too lazy to pull out my lease to get the square footage so I took a chance that this device (meant for 185 square feet) would at least be enough for the bedroom. That is the hottest room in the apartment and it is where I want to be most comfortable for sleeping purposes. Even with my window open at night and with the ceiling and floor fans going full blast, I always feel like I having menopausal night sweats. During the day, I spend a lot of time in the bedroom because it's where my writing desk is. It's also the furthest away from where the AC is in the living room.I had planned to write a review after using this for a few days (which is when I would be deciding to keep or return it), but the relief it provides is so immediate that I had to tell everyone asap.I turned this on for the first time at 11:40 am and ran it until 2:30 pm. The bedroom was so much cooler and more comfortable that I wanted to see how much water had accumulated in the machine. It was well about a tablespoon. To be honest, I still have the bedroom window and the bedroom door opened. I am hoping that if it works this well with those factors that when I close the room tonight, I will get even more relief. I can't wait and will do an update. As I mentioned, I plan to get at least one more of these as soon as I can. My dirty clothes hamper is in the bathroom closet along with mops and cleaning buckets. I am sure that having less humidity there will be so much better for the air and I think that a smaller dehumidifier unit will be adequate. As far as for the living room, I think I might need a unit the same size or slightly larger than this one. My kitchen gets very humid and I have to keep all my bread, flour, sugar, and other kitchen staples in sealed bags because of this.If you are like I was and wondered about how these things work, I can tell you that, as of now, I highly recommend getting a dehumidifier.I am going to risk embarrassment and include a photo of my not-picked-up room so that you can get an idea of the size. I know that seeing a space helps me better than telling me about measurements. The humidifier is placed on a table right next to the head of my bed but the cord is about 3 foot so I can move it around if I change the room's layout.

Efficient for its size but inconvenient to clean
Efficient for size but inconvenient to cleanPurchased this dehumidifier for my upstairs bathroom. Since there is no exhaust fan and the HOA won’t let me install one, this was my best option. The alternative is to open the window when showering; not preferred during cold winter months and I’m not an exhibitionist. Voyeuristic neighbors may be disappointed but they’ll have to look elsewhere.Overall I’m very satisfied with this unit. It removes a reasonable amount of water vapor, especially for its small size. My mirrors do not fog and condensation on the walls is minimal. Fairly quiet; I sometimes forget it’s on and neglect to shut off.I recommend this unit as it works as intended. Knocked off one star for the cleaning issues noted below.Pros1) Efficient for its size. Effective at dehumidifying small rooms.2) Small footprint. Easy to place in a bathroom or other areas with restricted space.3) Reasonably quiet. You’ll notice it if the room is completely quiet but it’s not objectionable. I haven’t used it in my bedroom so can’t comment if it will affect light sleepers.Cons1) A bit inconvenient to clean the water tank. There is an attached drain plug on the water tank to remove condensed water. However, I recommend you remove the tank top to clean and dry periodically. Otherwise bacteria, mold and mildew will develop. You need to remove an inset screw to detach the tank top. This procedure and the need to clean is not well explained in the instructions.2) No procedure is provided to clean the condenser fins in the unit. Eventually, dust and contaminants from the air and water vapor will accumulate on the condenser, limiting effectiveness. You can shove a brush up into the top section or blow out with an air gun, but risk distributing debris onto the electronics. It seems the only reliable method is to disassemble the unit.

NOT AS ADVERTISED/AFTER GIVEN BAD REVIEW OFFERED BRIBE BY COMPANY TO REMOVE MY REVIEW
Miss leading advertisement. Machine meant to work on 165 sq feet not 2200, according to instruction book that came with machine. Horrible item. The plastic box that collects water into it has no way to open it and wash it out so it can not be washed or dried out. The box only has two little holes both about the size of a dime to drain the water from.EMAIL SENT TO ME BY COMPANY OFFERING BRIBE TO REMOVE NEGATIVE REVIEW:Dear PAULA,This is Alex from Lonove Customer Manager.Thank you for purchasing our dehumidifier and for taking the time to leave your review.I noticed that you rated our dehumidifier 1 out 5 stars, I am really sorry our product didn't totally meet your needs. If you don't mind, could you please help me change or delete the review of the dehumidifier? We will issue a full refund of your dehumidifier order and you needn't return the item. Here is the link for your review:https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3EECEV8H9ZMAU/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07V6NT3P6Here is how to edit:To edit a review:1.Go to Your Profile.2.Choose the review you want to change in the Community activity section.3.Edit or delete your review, as required. VERY quiet
I just got mine. I don't know what I expected size wize but it wasn't this. Not to say it is a bad thing, just amazed at how small it is. I plugged it in and turned it on and it's whisper quiet which is perfect. My bedroom always has 60%+ humidity in it, which is brutal in the summer. Even with AC and other dehumidifier in the house running my room always feels sticky, even in the winter. Now I don't know how efficient it is as I've only just started running it. My only beef with it is there is no way to control/see humidity levels on it, there is no written: this product will continue to operate until X% is reached in humidity in the room. I assume it just keeps running regardless which can be a problem as it may overdry the room. So I'll have to be playing on/off for it, I suppose, if things get too dry.Since I just got it and it hasn't been running more than a few minutes I can't really give a honest review on it's performance. I'll update review at a later time and see how it goes.

Great for Small Spaces
I purchased this product for our condo bathroom because, despite having a fan, it tends to get very humid following a shower. This has caused mildew and mold build-up on the bathroom tiles and a musty smell in our towels. This mini dehumidifier is perfect for a small space. I set it up for a period of time following our showers and it does "nab" some moisture from the air. I have noticed a difference in the week that I've been using it (and I think I'll notice a greater difference in the summer when, despite the use of A/C, there is even more humidity in the air). It is quiet, small and looks nice. My one (small) "complaint" is that it is a bit difficult to remove the rubber stopper to drain the water from the tank, but aside from this, I think it's pretty awesome!

Great little product!! Definitely worth it
I have to say, I am quite impressed. I didn’t expect much for the price, and was weary but it delivered very quickly, and just needed to plug in. You can’t even hear it. We live in a basement suite in BC and it’s been feeling kind of damp in here and lots of spiders are becoming our friends - except I don’t like them back. I’m hoping the reduced humidity makes another home a better candidate for them. This machine was plugged in at like 11:30PM last night, and left on over night, and so far has a decent amount! My bedroom carpet actually didn’t feel soggy this morning!!!

Good for small areas
It is a good unit but here in BC it is struggling a little. Ours is a 26’ motorhome and so meets the cubic capacity requirements but again on very humid days it takes a good while to reduce our RH

FOR SAFETY REASONS MUST TURN UNIT OFF FOR 10 MINUTES EVERY 24 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!
I am surprised that Amazon would make this unit an “Amazon Choice” when it has such as glaring fault. As written in the Dehumidifiers User Manual - bottom page 4 under “IMPORTANT SAFETY PERCAUTIONS”, AND I QUOTE,. “DEHUMIFIFIER SHOULD NOT BE CONTINIOUS USE (their language, not mine) FOR A LONG TIME, PLEASE SWITCH UNIT OFF FOR A WHILE AFTER 24 HOURS” and in “QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON PAGE 5 WHERE I QUOTE, “ACTUALLY WE DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU RUNNING IT ALL THE TIME. PLEASE CUT OFF THE POWER CORD (their language, not mine) AFTER 24 HOURS RUNNING AND LET IT REST FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES…..”Needless to ask, “what happens if you don’t?”
